Needle vs Emerald

I want to confirm, since I don't have those paints, that Needle gives +2 (and +3 equip on Mamoth M3) against thunder M3. Same goes for Emerald. If Needle gives +2 against Thunder I wonder why it costs just 10k, against the 15k needed for Emerald, which has basically the same Thunder protection and worse second protections (who needs 30% smoky and twins).

I think this example is the same of Clay (30% aganist rico) vs Zeus (40% aganist rico) ....

Zeus costs 5k crystals more and its protections (isida and firebird) aren't the best but you have to think that a Zeus will beat Clay aganist rico... every times :)

I don't know the reasons behind the pricing, I think Needle is way OP'd for it's price. Then again, I think the same of Rock and Prodigi, so maybe it's the 15k paints that are overpriced. I don't know the reasons behind the pricings, but I'd certainly buy Needle over Emerald even if they were the same price.

Zeus costs 5k crystals more and its protections (isida and firebird) aren't the best but you have to think that a Zeus will beat Clay aganist rico... every times :)

Il problema qua è che mi sembra, visto che non ho ancora visto una risposta, che Needle faccia sopravvivere un Hornet/Viking/Mammoth lo stesso numero di colpi che garantisce l'Emerald. Solo che ci sono 5K differenza e la protezione secondaria dell'Emerald è praticamente inutile rispetto a quella del Needle.

So Needle makes you survive the same amount of Thunder shots as Emerald? I think Emerald needs at least some improvement on the second protection (like tier 1.5/2), as now it's totally not worth 15K.

I agree with you on this one :D. I believe some of the expensive paints have become a complete and total rip-off since the update on the 12th of April, the day Tanki put a limit on the rank-creation of battles.

 

Emerald is a perfect example of such a paint. Most battles used to be filled with tier 1 guns as well, but since the update that's history. People bought their paints with certain expectations, but have been mislead. I'm lucky I'm not one of them, otherwise it would be crystals down the drain...

I agree to me the 15000 paints are more like a choice of what weapon do you hate getting killed by and do you really want this their are paints that are near that protection and cheaper.

Needle, definitely. It has protection against three commonly used weapons-- Thunder (30%), Ricochet (15%), and Railgun (10%).

 

Emerald has protection against twins, smoky, and thunder. The only good thing about that paint is the 40% against Thunder.

Needle gives +1(except on mammy (+2)), Emerald +2. This is at max damage from a thunder, but max damage doesn't usually happen, so they could both increase by 1.

I thought Needle gave +2 against Thunder because I've seen Vikings survive 6 shots (kill in 7) and sometimes Hornets 4 shots (kill in 5).

Normally, my Needle and M3 Vik gives me +2. At maximum damage, however, it only gives +1.

Needle is possibly the best pro-paint (most common in TOF and other no supply games). From my personal experience, I have used needle a lot more than emerald. Moreover, the total protection it gives from tier 2 weapons is 45% (30+15) which is only 2nd best to Inferno and python (50% each). It could easily have been a 15k paint. :wink:

Protection is weak? Yet it's a good paint? What's good about it, the looks? Really? All Emerald has extra than Needle is survival from one more Thunder hit. That is all. Needle has Ricochet and Railgun protection on top of its thunder. Emerald has nothing, only thunder. And costs 5,000 crystals more.

Lead is handy. And there is no point for Storm or Rock once you have python. You also forgot In Love. :roll:

No. But using your logic, neither is the 10% protection advance from Needle to Emerald. And if that isn't much, then why waste 5,000 crystals on something which is not much better?

If your skills are good you can beat a thunder with emerald if you have thunder and needle.. same of spark-Zeus, Inferno-Python, ecc :)
