Aha, you are 100% right there. I don't even think chriswu should be allowed to compete come to think of it. I spoke to another reporter that said he couldn't take part because of that.

When chriswu first posted his pic, he wasn't a reporter yet.But now he is, so it won't be fair.

And, the Reporters get paid every week, so the don't need additional rewards. :P

Contests are fun guys. :P I think everyone should participate, and it doesn't make it unfair for one salary earning person to take part.

After all, if some epic buyers with all m3 garages and tons of paints can take part, why can't I? I only have one tier 2 m3 tank. :roll:

More than half of the contest winners in the last several months have better garages than I do. Besides, how can you say that this is a genuine contest to see who's the best photoshopper if you don't allow some potential winners to participate? Doesn't that defeat the whole point? You reap what you sow. I've stuck around in this community for a very long time, made a lot of friends, and run into a bit of luck as well. I love designing, and since it's summer holidays I've had lots of time and interest to invest in learning how to photoshop. Isn't that disjoint from my current state as a reporter? Being a reporter isn't a cakewalk either. It's considerable work, and I spend in total about 10-15 hours on articles and pictures.

 

That's my justification, but for the sake of you guys, I'd be willing to retract my entry, though it would be a real shame and disappointment to me personally, because I think I have the same right to participate as stated above.

Yes, ^ agreed. The people making the contest can't participate in it. Unfair advantage. If the reporters are going to judge, and a reporter is participating, then you can make yourself win.

Yeah, Chris deserves to win maybe more than anyone from the participants.But he just must not win, because of his 'Staff position'.

Anyway, that's my personal opinion, I cannot change the things even if I make 1000 complaints.

This contest will be the same as the 'Best of May', where for example 1 guy has collected over 12k crystals only from drops in the battle. (OBVIOUSLY FAKE STORY)

And where the Russian contest maker (also from the Staff) - Mysleslov, won an IPad, because he posted the 'most liked idea' on the Feedback...

If chriswu DOES earn himself a prize, how will that be unfair? Everyone who has and will enter this contest will be judged fairly (unless they cause unnecessary problems). If chris wins, it means that his work is better than those who didn't. Being a member of our staff will not incline us to "make him win."

 

This contest was made with the intention to gauge the skill levels of the various Photoshop users in our community. We do not want the 'best of the worst' to be on our team.

 

Any further public discussion of anything pertaining to this topic will give the judges a bad opinion of you.

Guys, Its his choise... so what if he is reporter? He should get same rights to participate in any contest...he well needs crystals. who doesn't need crystals?
