Smoky XT Chroncicles:The Journey

The guy I can most closely relate to a god stands before me, in an epic, determined stare up toward the skyboxmosphere, where just recently, a tank, in tow behind a mysterious vehicle, disappeared into a black, mysterious portal. “We are getting up there.” Defiantly states my hero, Milan, as he makes his way around a decrepit, half-demolished building.

Silence ensues.

“What the heck are you thinking?! We can’t fly like that—thing! We can’t even jump, for crying out loud!” I explode, realizing that the legend must be losing more than just the shine on his paint.

“You will see, boy,” he calmly stares, disregarding my implied accusation of insanity. “There are some things that you still have to learn.” We approach the outer boundary of the battlefield—a sloped, rugged, and steep wall. “Get on.” he commands.

“Wha-? Let me guess—you acquired an ejection seat or a teleportation device on one of your many conquests?” He obviously ejected his core processing unit ages ago.

He stops in his treaded tracks.. “In retrospect, perhaps I should have brought one of those along... They are pretty consistent, you know.” He pauses again, and resumes his face of determination. “It’s too late to think about the past—now on with the future! You see that ledge over there? Drive up that ramp, then go off it, and onto me.”

Seeing no other possible choice (or hope of changing his mind), I do what I am told without another word being emitted from my speakers. As I reach the peak of the miniature promontory, I spot my elder beneath me, and drive off. I land on top of his turret with a light but definite thud. Before I can ask what we are doing, I find myself being rushed into the nearest wall. Too astonished to yell, I do not resist action being committed against my wishes. Milan hits the wall, and begins to slope upwards, paralleling himself with the wall. He shouts a single word, but it is enough. “Drive!” This literally sparks something inside of me, that something being my sparkplugs. I struggle upwards, and find my undercarriage being ripped to shreds by a bullet! Milan shot me! The rebound from his shot sends me flying through the air, results in a three-hundred-sixty degree flip, with me landing perfectly on a--the... where am I? I look around. Same map, but my view seems to be a bit elevated. I back up to find a better view of my surroundings, only to quickly dip backwards, due to the lack of flooring underneath my treads. I quickly regain my stability, and look back, to see where I would have fallen to.

If possible, my camera lenses would have swelled. There before me, stood another dimension, another world. Trees were everywhere, and in the distance, I could see that at the forest’s outer boundary was an immense wall of mountains and cliffs. Never had I imagined that this was what laid behind the boundaries! A hear many cracks of Milan’s weapon firing, apparently at an object in close proximity. I turn around just in time to see him finishing up a climb of his own, made possible by his continuous process of driving up the slope while shooting at the ground immediately underneath him. It worked rather well, not minding the scratches and dents dealt to the portion of him that was closest to the shells’ explosions. I can see him activate an internal medkit, and the results began to show. The dents are quickly refilled, the scratches heal, and his energy is instantly replenished. I decide to follow suit, and quickly realize how beat-up looking I was beforehand. Changing subject to the matter at hand, I inquire on our next destination. “We’re going up there?” I gesture my turret in the direction of the largest mountain in sight. It is truly an ominous sight, with its steep cliffs, dark trees, and jagged cliffs and ledges. To make it all better, I see that it seems to be emanating darkness itself, impossible as it sounds.

“Any better ideas, buddy?” A joking sound inhabits his voice. Reluctantly, I follow the legend into the dense woods, weapon and supplies at the ready.

The forest is a dark place, with the only source of light being the occasional (and very small) cracks in the upper canopy, and my companion and I’s headlights. We have yet to encounter any form of being, hostile or not. From time to time though, I honestly believe that I see shadows moving about the shadows themselves. I decide to not mention this to my older accomplice, to avoid any further elaborately insane escapades that he may force me into.

Days pass, and we find no signs of life other than the trees. Our internal compasses still functioning to the best of their abilities, Milan and I are fairly certain that we are progressing in the proper direction. However, we have not gotten a glimpse of the Dark Mountain, as we call it, through the foliage in quite some time. Later that night, we set down camp, to give our engines a break, and run some maintenance on our computers. Milan and I discuss who should go through their processes first, since it leaves one completely vulnerable to attack. We conclude that I should go first. I do so, and fade into the innumerable amounts of data that I find myself processing, checking for and discrepancies or degradation.

I regain consciousness after what appears to be only a few moments. I check my chronometer, and find that I was out for 45 minutes. “Be happy that your memory banks are not as full as mine,” jokes Milan. “I guarantee that my self-diagnostic will take at least twice as long as yours.” His camera covers close, and I hear the loathsome sound of his computers working without stop. I look around, weary of any unwanted visitors that may now make their presences known. A hear a rustle overhead. Some branches crack. I quickly glance upward, to see the advancing sillouhette of…

Unbeknownst to most tanks in that world, there is no endless abyss beyond the outer walls of every map; only a forest or desert, depending on the sky box. Parkour is almost unheard of.

This is fake you can see by looking at the images.

What is a fake, exactly?

This is a fictional story, bud. Keep that in mind before you try to pick out flaws.

And I have to say that somebody is mad at somebody because somebody didn't get something they wanted, somewhere.

Alex, kindly refrain from trying to start a flame war. With everyone.

And to add a little to that, if you don't like the story, don't read it! Just know that his is fictional ( and also very intruiging good job Tommy:wink: ) and nothing should confuse you.

ALEX you're still upset about not getting anything in the contest. I am too, but that doesn't mean you should go flaw-picking on every piece of the reporters' hard work.

It doesn't need to!

Of course they respect it, it's just that they didn't think it was the best! They thought everyone's was good, but yours just didn't stand out from the crowd! Personally I think you should have got something but I'm not a judge! You can't give everyone a prize, or else what'll be the point of the competition? People will join just for the prize!

BTW, if you used TankViewer, can you please state.

That's your personal opinion.

 Someone back me up here, preferably a reporter.

The judges thought Jooe's was the best. Maybe he did cheat, maybe he did. But the judges did not know (assuming he did cheat, which I doubt greatly), and therefore they thought his was the best.

Did you use TankViewer though?
