No! rail gun isnt for loosers. here how i see it... ricos, freeze are great no doubt about it but they are what they are... spacebar pressers, no real strategy involve.

now rails, is a different ball game, u need a good strategy to play it. u cant just go around and press spacebar all the time. u need to peak around corners, size up the opponents before start shooting. it involves way more than just tapping on spacebar, it involves intellect! :D

...and last but not least, being a marshall does not mean you CANT use tier 1 guns! pls stop the ranting on how high ranks dont use no tier 1 weapons thats just lame :P

use whatever guns u think suit your skill NOT what rank suits the gun :

the same can be said on ricos and freeze :) ...dont get me wrong i LOVE RICOS but i just prefer rails. there's something about rails that is so addictive :)

I beg to differ, rico is a very difficult gun to use effectively. Being able to get angles right, having to deal with allies in the way (dear lord, do not even get me started about that), and compensating for the speed and distance of a moving target in accordance to projectile velocity... It is very difficult. Whereas for rail, it is difficult, but all it involves is timing your shoot perfectly so you dont expose yourself for too long or end up shooting at the cover you are hiding behind (of course you could argue it involves aiming on the go... but what non-close range weapons doesnt have to deal with that?). Rico has the highest dps (excluding close range weapons) but it still faces many issues in the battle field. Probably the biggest test of skill while using a rico is going against another. Since you have to account for all of the above as well as the enemies shots knocking you back (which is terrible while trying to drive towards them) and your own weapon knock back effect. At this point of time, the rail gun is more of an irritant rather than a threat.

I really don't like railguns tbh..makes firebird uses look like they came back from 2 years or something..The only way i can think of defeating a railgun with a firebird is going through an unessecary amount of nooks and crannies...any help on backfiring railguns with close-up weapons? :unsure:

The only way to kill a Railgun, or any combination of tank, with a short ranged weapon, is to get close to it and fire.

There is no alternative way, there is no "backfire" method, you'll just have to find a creative way to sneak up on that Railgun and surprise him to death!

In my opinion railgun is one of the strongest weapons (at m3) if you are low ranked. Later in the game I would recommend Thunder, if you like using railgun.
