The launch of Tanki Online 2.0 was postponed. So far, the release date is unknown.

For those who have not seen the trailer for the new Tanki 2.0, here you can see it on action as well as a screen-shot of the new interface.

The whole thing looks promising although the new features will bump up the CPU requirements on our computers.

So may God have mercy on my poor Core2Duo T9300.. )

 

We’ve completely changed lighting system so now you can hide tanks in the shadow and fight on night arenas. We’ve also animated track layers, added camera shaking effect, modernized interface greatly and prepared a lot of other cool stuff. Entering social space we could not forget about socialization. User profiles, player’s reputation, achievements system and other social features will allow tankmen to communicate with each other more actively. In future the game will appear in My.Mail.Ru, Vkontakte and Facebook. It’ll be possible to play from any of these social networks and from tankionline.com website simultaneously. All users enter the same game space no matter where they come from.

Hey you guys, Tanki 2.0 IS FASTER THAN VERSION 1 !!!!!!!!

 

Who said that tanki 2.0 is going to be slower at all?

The shadows are not dynamic. Like the new models of Persia, the shadow is not calculated realtime. There will be a lightmap blended with the diffuse map with multiply ( Black and white lightmap * diffuse map /255) algorithm. And because there is a setting for the level of details, tankionline 2.0 will be faster than version 1 !!!

 

Yes, tankionline 2.0 will consume more memory, if the option to do the lighting is on, but it never means it will require more proccesing power.

The camera shaking, has nothing to do with slowing things down! So does the night and day conditions!

 

Do not spread these rumers about game speed.

 

Mehdadoo first of all i am not spreading any rumors about anything. Relax. :). I am only expressing an OPINION if not a question. Feel free to contradict me. I do not mind. It is called a DEBATE and usually it takes place on a FORUM. I am the last person to spread anything about anyone. I do not have access to the information that you have ("The shadows are not dynamic."). Nevertheless, a light-map/diffuse map blend in multiply mode still means more Math compared to what it is now, at least in theory. Of course, a detail level slider it's a very handy feature but I was talking about a "play-as-is" situation. For example, right now, lowering the visible area in game on a map like Brest is not a very good option in a crowded battle where I need to see as much details as I can from the battle field. All that i have said assumed that things will be calculated in real-time like in a desktop 3D game. But again, you seem to have more info's ..so..

 

Memory is not a problem...everybody has it these days :D

 

Do not get me wrong! I LOVE Tanki. I played Tanki for a long time and i will play it in the future. I love the look of the new Tanki 2.0. I was just wondering... that's all.

You can't tell much my looking at a promo video, isn't it ? :). As I previously said, keep-up the good work guys. :)

Persia looks amazing in those pictures. I love the lights and shadows. Can't wait to battle on it :)

just asking when is tanki 2.0 coming out? i have been wondering for quit a while people have been telling me differnt dates since january and i would like the REAL one! so if one of the people who work for tanki or someone who actually know please tell me soon.

Wait, arent u supposed to get thunder at warrant officer?thats major-general or something.

Hi everybody.

I have some questions about this version. I read a great part of this topic, but not all the posts, so, it's possible that anybody had already ask the following questions :

- Does this version will be in russian only ?

- Does the level to get the weapons the tanks and the paints will change (For exemple, the thunder already available buy at the sergeant-major, or contrary able to buy it at the Warrant Officier 4) ?
