Silence: Battlefield... Wasteland... Home

I take a deep breath. I sit in my tank, waiting for the moment when I enter the battlefield. Although I have fought in countless battles, destroyed countless enemies, and emerged victorious, I have never felt so nervous in my military career. I look again at my mission briefing packet. Game mode: Capture the Flag. 5 flags. No time limit. Map: Silence II. As the desert town emerges in the distance, I see how much it has changed during the war. I would know. This was my home.

The town of Silence was founded after a rich oil reservoir was discovered underneath its location. Many people seeking jobs in the oil industry flocked to this town, including my father. I was a mere child at the time, and I easily adapted to my new home. I still remember the hot summer days I spent with my friends. However, as time passed, conflicts broke out and war loomed on the horizon. To protect this oil under our town, a military establishment was constructed across the street where I lived. Barracks and factories were built to accommodate the new inhabitants of our humble town. On a fateful day, war has broken out. Food, clothing, and many other things were rationed. Everyone lived in constant fear of battle coming to the town. By this time, I was a young adult, already starting to work at the oil refineries, trying to support my family. Once in a while, tanks would roll through the main avenue on their way to battle. For a while, the war seemed far away, never seeming to come our way. Soon, this changed.

It was late afternoon when the enemies came. Klaxon sirens blared from the fort across the street, telling the townspeople to evacuate. In the bustle of the evacuation and the ensuing battle, I lost my family. I never saw them again. As we all were ferried away in airplanes from the town we grew up in, smoke and debris obscured the oil towers and other landmarks that were familiar to us.

Soon after reaching safety, I was drafted into the military. I learned to use the new powerful tanks developed by Tanki Weapon Productions. The officers were awed by my sharpshooting skills. Many an enemy fell to my long ranged assaults. As I rose through the ranks, I obtained better tanks, better guns, and protective paints. These added up to my ultimate battle machine, a Railgun mounted on a Titan hull. I mastered combat on all the busiest battle zones; sniping at Kangur, picking off enemies one by one at Madness, obliterating other tanks at Fort Knox. However, I have never visited the busiest location of them all – Silence.

Now, as a Warrant Officer 3, I switched to Mammoth for a hull and am impossibly close to the best gun of all -- Shaft. I still suffered from frequent bouts of homesickness. I still constantly shy away from battles at my hometown, bringing my battle machine elsewhere. But, I figured I have to face my demons one time or another, so I signed up for battle. As I have learned, the town is contaminated with radioactive residue from Railgun and Thunder shells. Additional platforms for sniping have been added, and the ramp to part of the fort has been modified into a bottleneck. In fact, they are calling the town Silence II, as the town has been completely renovated for war. I snap out of my memories as I arrive at my hometown. The battle has already begun, as bouncing plasma balls and radioactive Thunder shell fragments fill the air.

I am determined not only to fight, but to win. As the hot and dry air flooded through the tank’s ventilation system, I inched my way forward, firing my Railgun to destroy an enemy right off the bat. I clench my hands around the steering mechanism, promising myself that I will fight at my best, to fight for what’s mine – my home.

A long time ago, back when tanki never existed to the history of mankind, there was only one gun and one tank. They were the smoky and the wasp. There were no upgrades to this gun and tank at all. All of these tanks lived peaceably in the land known as sandbox. For many years, these tanks lived together as friends, fighting their peers in a friendly manner, but not in a way that would suggest war. After a long time, some of these tanks decided they were getting tired of being one group and formed their own group called the mass weapons clan. So this group went into hiding, trying to find new technology to use to battle the smokys at sandbox. Meanwhile, the smokys developed new upgrades for their weapons, known as smoky m1, which did seventeen damage compared to what they now called the m0 smoky, because it did only about sixteen maximum damage. They tested out their new m1 smoky and realized it needed something. The shot rate was the same but the damage was taken up 1 hp more. Then they realized what they needed to do. They needed to change the look of the gun, so they changed the long part so it had one black ring around the tip and changed the square part to look a little more decorative. Then they needed to change the shot rate so instead of thirty shots per minute, it was thirty one point six. They practiced with this new m1 smoky for quite some time. Meanwhile, back at the mass weapons clan, they developed new weapons that were supposed to be more powerful then smoky. There was the firebird, which emitted a flame that stretched up to 20 meters with mass damage. Then there were twins, which has low damage per shot, but high fire rate. And then there was rail gun, which had a slow reload, but high damage per shot. Now they knew they could push the smokys off the map and rule the game.

Meanwhile, the smokys had decided they needed a new model of their new smoky m1 gun. They called it the smoky m2. They raised the damage quite a bit higher then the m1, at twenty maximum damage per shot, with thirty four shots per minute. They decorated it with 2 black rings on the tip instead of 1, and made it a little more built up. They tested this new gun compared to all the others that they had done and approved of its use. Eventually, they created yet another model of their gun. Classically known as the smoky m3, they brought the damage to 24 damage per shot, and then raised it to 37 shots per minute. They put 3 black rings on the tip, and built it up a little more. Now they realized their tank hull was rather low on health, because 30 hp was not that much when fighting a smoky m3. 2 shots killed them off, so then they decided to make wasp m1, which had 35 hp and a little more speed, m2 wasp, which had 45 hp and quite a bit more speed, and wasp m3, which had 60 hp and maximum speed. After much consideration, they decided to charge crystals for each upgrade of the weapon, which were given out everyday to all the tanks. Eventually, everyone had bought wasp m3, and smoky m3 combo. They knew they would finally win this pointless war and get their lands back and everything back to normal. However, back at the mass weapons clan, the tanks invented new hulls. They had the hunter, slower then wasp, but with moderate speed and good health. They invented titan, slow, but lots of hp. They put their firebird on wasp, smoky on hunter, and twins on titan. (They hadn’t invented a hull for rail gun quite yet so they didn’t use it.) As the war began, the mass weapons clan didn’t expect their 60 health hulls and their guns that inflicted 24 damage at a fast rate. They were pushed back for quite a while in sandbox. After long battles, since they always played in what was called a Team Death match, the mass weapons clan decided to invent the Capture the flag mode, where everyone would form teams and each team had a flag, and the flag could be taken, and then captured. It was a new mode that was created to battle against the smokys. After lots of losses from the mass weapons clan, they went back into hiding to invent new modifications for their current weapons, and to invent new weapons if possible. Eventually, new maps were created to give some variety to the war battles, such as boom box, sandal, silence II, polygon, and all kinds of other maps that were big and small and in-between.

This is the beginning of the story of tanki, the story that my dad and I have lived since the smokys were all joined together in harmony. This is the story I’m about to tell the rest of, but first, I am going to tell you a little bit of why I’m telling you this. You see, my father joined the mass weapons clan since they first were joined together. He felt he needed to modify the new gun a little more. Well, I disagreed because of a number of reasons, but the main reason I did was because I didn’t care about all those weapons. But for the sake of keeping myself sustained in this war, my group has decided to do a few things differently such as cloning ourselves so that we can continue to destroy the mass weapons clan. I still love my father, and it breaks my heart to see him have to go against me like this. He’s a good man nonetheless, but his intentions are more toward a new system, a new tanki system that could harm us, or do us good. We may never know but one thing is for sure, if the clan didn’t form, we would still be in peace, doing nothing and we would have never created the amazing ctf mode, or new maps. But I still don’t like this clan, and I will do whatever I can to beat them off and have peace once again. And that’s where the rest of our story begins…

As time passed, we fought the mass weapons clan with our new weapon known as thunder and pushed them off. They eventually invented the freeze, the tier 2 version of firebird, the ricochet, the tier 2 version of twins, and shaft, the tier 2 version of rail gun. They pushed us off for a long time, until we invented drugs, which were double armor, double damage, and nitro. This balanced things out a bit, because we eventually invented the tier 2 hulls, which were the hornet, Viking, and mammoth. The mass weapons clan eventually invented the dictators, much like titan, but fast. Eventually, everyone decided to form clans, and they fought other clans in clan wars including the mass weapons clan. (To this day, they were never found since they were pushed off the map.) This original war turned out to make tanki what it is today.

I have grown old, and it has been a long time since those days of original war between the smoky group and the mass weapons clan. But one thing I will tell you, I am not supportive of either of them now even if they existed. None of these 2 groups exist today. Instead, creative people decided to turn this into a game, providing these guns and weapons to ones personal enjoyment. No one knows why the original 2 groups split apart and never existed again. Some say they made peace and had fun playing tanki as players of the game. Others think they quit completely. You never know, they could be working on a new weapon right now. But one fact is in place, tanki could have never existed without the separation of the few members which called themselves the mass weapons clan.

Chapter 1: As time passes, you get to Third Lieutenant. You’ve just gotten promoted, and just started to look for a clan to help you. In that last battle, you had done well. The enemy rage quit. You had been first. While you were steadily capturing flags for your team one of your team-mates had gotten the flag and refused to cap, waiting for you to leave. You tried out-waiting him; but then a clan joined the enemy side. You and your team-mates were overrun. You attempted to save the fund by sneaking through the tunnel below the rest of Iran to get to their flag. After managing to knock out an enemy tank, you grabbed the flag and retreated to the safety of the tunnel. Then, it dropped. It looked like a soccer ball, but square. Curious, you went up to it, afraid to touch it. Then another tank rolled up. It was a Thunder - Viking named “qwerty”, that backed up out of your freeze's range, while shooting you with his thunder. Hoping to push the soccer box out of the way, you run into it to get to qwerty. Then, you realize it was a gold box… Somehow, it looked like a soccer box. But the most amazing thing was that 500 crystals had been added to your bank account! You stare at the screen and qwerty destroys you. You are very excited, and leave to your garage to look at what you could get. M1 Freeze! You are sure you’re the happiest Third Lieutenant in the world. Then your world changed. Qwerty had left, as well. It seems he wasn’t at all happy that you had gotten the soccer box. And, he went about was saying that you were blacklisted by “Vampire Clan.” You think he has to be kidding, after all, it was only a soccer box… but then you think about that 500 crystals added to your account… But, you don’t want to think about it. And besides, its time to go to bed.

As time passes, you realize his threat has some ground. You were being forced out of several important battles that you could have won. But, their clan would notice you, join, and you would lose. You still earned a few crystals, but it wasn’t enough to get M2 Freeze, your dream. Silence. Alone, deserted by your fellow players and up against “Vampire Clan”. But suddenly, five players join at once. This is more than a coincidence, and you asked the highest ranking one, a Major, "Why did you join to help me, and four others as well?" He, named asdf, said, "I’m leading a clan to play and practice. Our name is 'Storm Clan.'" You decide to entrust your loyalty to this clan, partly because you need some protection, partly because you hoped they could get you soccer boxes. (You DID like some of their tanks too! xP) Qwerty, to say the least, wasn’t at all happy that Storm Clan had joined. But they already had the lead, 10-0 (mostly because you had been the whole team during the first 10 minutes). Storm clan at least stopped the enemy from capping fast, but Vampire Clan was very strong. It was mostly even, but every player they had was strong. You weren’t. You would have to wait a long time for that. You and Storm clan left the battle.

As time passes, you get to know more and more of “Storm Clan." Then, when you were a Captain, Storm Clan declared war on Vampire Clan. An important battle was to be fought on an important intersection known as “Kungur." Readying your gun and tank, (Freeze M2 and Viking M2) you prepare to defend an important strategic point down in the village of Kungur. Storm Clan's objective was to capture the main part of the intersection, across Kungur bridge. Your team fights hard to get over to the bridge. An M3 Hornet with M3 Rico fights his way to the important spot. Suddenly, a red hole appears on his tank, and destroys it. Holes suddenly appear on many tanks on the main attack force. Its your time to defend against the enemies attack. One M3 Viking comes up with an M3 Rico. You manage to sneak behind him, and freeze him, so that his turret does not come in contact with your tank. A Hornet with Thunder suddenly comes in from behind you. He shoots you once, twice, three times, and on the fourth shot your dead. You were not able to defend against the enemy, and Kungur Village falls to the enemy.

As time passes, Vampire Clan has several victories, and your clan is beaten back to its last fortress, the high ground in Silence City. Qwerty and his command have decided to move. To attack it. Asdf quickly orders a defense. While the war had been going on, you had earned a lot of crystals. Then, you make a big decision. Its time… to buy. You buy just enough for M3 Freeze. And you are ready to defend Silence City. Taking up a position right behind a road that leads directly to Storm's headquarters, you wait, with a wall behind you, road in front of you. The first foe comes up. You avoid his fire, and destroy him! You feel like celebrating your victory instantly, but another tank comes up, and the fight continues. A steady stream of enemy tanks keep up the attack on the road, but it is hopeless for them. Suddenly, gold letters appear on the screen saying: Congratulations! You have achieved a new rank: << Major >>! The attack on Silence City has utterly failed. Your M3 Freeze had turned the tide in a long war against Vampire Clan. Enemy remnants still remain, particularly in the following: Kungur Intersection, Silence City, The Canyon, The Stadium, The Lost Temple, and several other known territories. It is up to you to win these, and bring victory to your clan.

I remember my newbie days. On my first battle I whizzed around the map shooting and killing every enemy I saw. I soon became the rank of Private. I dominated battle after battle, earning many of those heavenly delights; crystals. One day (at the rank of Private) I joined a higher ranked battle full of Corporals. Before long I came face to face with my closest rival, the cunning adversary preventing me from the top spot in battle. We had not encountered before, and I knew that this was my optimum opportunity to show him what I was made of. As we drew nearer to each other, I noticed that there was something unorthodox about him. His tank was far wider than that of mine, and his gun was flatter. I surmised this as a glitch, but that was a big mistake. I made the first move, shooting my foe in the corner of his tank. He hardly flinched. Edging closer to me, he sprayed out some sort of fire, orange-yellow colour. I shot him twice more, but my health was fast running out. Surely he should be dead by now? I didn’t even have time to think before my tank flew into the air with smoke. How could this be? How could he have beaten me? My eyes darted to the chatbox where my enemy had typed, “I am too strong for you. As time passes, you’ll be as big and strong as I.”

Sometime later, when I had advanced to the rank of Warrant Officer 4, Shaft M0 and Hornet M3 was my game. Being the only Shaft sniper on my team, I stole kills and annihilated enemies before they could even get a glimpse of me. My D/L rose rapidly as my tank not only provided transcendent speed, but temperate health. I smiled as a First Lieutenant joined the match, on the opposing team. My smile gradually faded as I saw how many kills the Lieutenant was getting in such a small amount of time. As our team cowered away from the beast, I saw for myself who he really was. Noticing our sudden meekness, the Lieutenant found a sniping position and composed himself. “Haha!” I thought. “Does he really think he can knock me off course? What is that, Thunder M1 or something? Hah!” How erroneous I was. I went into scope, but only mille-seconds after the green ring had appeared, I was knocked off course by the Thunder. Half of my life had gone. I tried to get the gun back on target, but again I was hit by the Thunder, sending me into the sky into a puff of smoke. “No way,” I whispered, “Thunder M3.” Once again I looked at the chatbox. My enemy had written, “Не сейчас, мой друг. Со временем, вы будете, как непобедимы, как и я.”

Not very long later, when I was the taxing rank of Captain, I thought nothing could stop me. I had M3 Dictator with M3 Freeze. Playing in my then favourite map, Silence, I froze my enemies to death. As I waited by the right-wing ramp, I smirked as I saw Lieutenant Colonels ran off when they noticed that I was there. One chivalrous Major came up, although his Isida was no match for me. He tried to turn his turret; he tried to turn his tank. He was only half-way to me when he died. Following his valiant alacrity, four more enemies appeared, all aiming at me. I sighed melodramatically heavily and waited. I did not shoot until my allies were almost dead. When I started firing, my opponents had pretty much no life left. Within seconds there were four tanks lying rusted on the ground. Pressing Tab, I saw a Brigadier on the Red team who had died 5 times with no kills. I expected nothing of him. How I chortled when he came up the ramp I was guarding. I waited, preparing to show him who I was. In an instant a blur appeared and went. I looked at my health. More than half had gone. I was too busy thinking to function when the blur appeared and extirpated me. I was shocked. I re-spawned in the same place, and this time I was going to take no prisoners. Now it was me against him. The rest of my team had left me to my own devices. I moved closer to my enemy, desperately trying to catch even the slightest glimpse of him. He appeared. This time he stayed to ridicule me. He shot me with what I now familiarised with as Railgun. It spun me around a full 180 degrees, and when I had regained myself, he was nowhere to be seen. I drove behind the craters, and as soon as I turned around... He was there. I saw him only for a nano-second before I blackened out. All I could see was the chatbox, where my enemy had sent me a link. I clicked on it to see in patronising lettering, ‘I am fast. As time passes, you’ll be as deceptive and Machiavellian as me.’

And now here I am. I am the rank of General, with only 1,000 xp left until Marshal. I am faced with a Marshal, one-on-one, a duel. In a whizz the Marshal, equipped with M3 Freeze, M3 Mammoth and the paint Jade, assaults. I zoom back with trepidation, just as I remember the First Lieutenant’s words. I have the advantage of speed. I pry around the map, as if I were a tiger looking for prey. I discover a hiding spot where the Marshal will never unearth me. I pray that my star combo of M3 Viking, M3 Thunder and the cleverly chosen paint Inferno will see me through this match. I have never faced a Marshal, not ever, and now that I am, why oh why did it have to be this player in particular? I linger around until I see the Marshal. I shoot twice when my enemy is out of its gun-shot. As he turns, I move into another position behind a bush and finish him off before he can get his aim focused on me. I repeat this tactic until the Marshal leaves and comes back with M3 Hornet and M3 Shaft. I whimper.

Is there a way I can defeat this Marshal? I certainly can’t snipe and hide now that there’s a Shaft in town. We try to locate each other, but something distracts us. The Gold, worth 500 crystals is falling. I panic. The Sergeant’s words hit me. How’re they going to help? Then I realise. I shoot the Marshal twice as he suddenly appears, throwing him off balance. My fingers involuntarily cross in hope that the Marshal will flip over, but no such luck. I snap back to reality and focus on my task. The Marshal is seconds away from the Gold; MY Gold. He stops and faces me, ready for scope. I smile. I am going to make this cruel. The Marshal prematurely shoots me but I still have most of my health. The Shaft heads for the Gold. I have to time this. The tip of the Shaft is a millimetre away from the Gold when I shot. BAM! He’s dead. I hurry up to collect my prize. I am the health, he was the stealth. I have brought Health victory!

The Marshal leaves, and returns this time with Viking M3 and Ricochet M3. I too leave and return with Hornet. I only need 10 more xp until Marshal. I reminisce about the Brigadier’s words. Before I know it we are face to face. Who will make the first move? I move back until I am out of sight. I circle the map until I am behind the Marshal. I shoot and miss deliberately, causing the Marshal to shoot in shock. Many of his shots backfire and injure him, leaving me with an easy job. I move away and shoot into a corner. The Ricochet whips around, so I shoot him. I can tell he has almost no life left. I want this to be fun. I go to one side of the Ricochet and purposely miss. I do the same on the other side. By now the Ricochet is so perplexed his is continuously spinning his turret. I ride up a ramp directly above the Marshal. I lean forward and shoot.

The screen goes yellow with the majestic congratulatory message. I beam at my rank – the golden star with a ring around it. “Thank you, my teacher,” I type. “Thanks for your guidance.” For yes, he is the Sergeant, the First Lieutenant and the Brigadier. “As time passes, we all become stronger,” I see he has written. I smile to myself. “And as time passes,” I shout, “I will become the greatest!

Hi guys,

This morning I look at my Youtube channel –more than 100 video- . I decided to watch all these video about Tanki Online since the beginning. It reminded me when I started playing Tanki Online, nearly three years ago. When I began this wonderful game, I saw all these strong Dictator Fearmachine who killed me and my little Wasp in one shot. At that moment, I said to myself “One day, I will be the strongest tank in the battle.” One month later, I was in the top 500. I discovered the forum. It looked good but it was only the beginning, so it wasn’t popular and hasn’t so many followers. I saw the Clans part but only three clan was existing so I thought that I will join one later. The gun Fearmachine was renamed Railgun. The map Novel was launched, she became my favorite.

Then, one day, they launched Thunder, the storm himself, Hornet, the fastest one, Mamoth, the giant who never dies, and Viking, the perfect mix between the two. I decided to buy Thunder and use it with my Dictator. Impressed by Thunder, I decided to make something unforgettable: film myself buying Thunder from M0 to M3 in one time. So I bought 15 k crystals and I already had 7k, and I go to bed. I wanted to film this the next morning. But when the time comes, I wasn’t able to connect to Tanki Online. I was so angry and I decided to leave this game. One week later, I missed Tanki. I decided to restart from the beginning. But this time, I wanted to do this properly. I use my best friend’s link to register. I choose intelligently my nickname, SpongeBob007, choose a good password, entered my e-mail. I upgraded Wasp and Smoky. I focused on playing one-hour CTF games and I always won with my fast Wasp. I think this is the best combination until Warrant Officier 2. I bought Viking and Thunder. This is actually the best combo in my opinion.

I saw that the forum was better and better, and one day, Phantommeat himself invited me to join his clan. I joined it. We were sixteen.

One day, on the home page of Tanki, I saw that two new gun was launched, Ricochet and Freeze. I immediately bought crystals, and I get M3 Ricochet and I upgraded Hornet from M2 to M3. This was and is still a good combo, very aggressive. But I didn’t bought Freeze. Then a new map, Courage, by Flanagun, was launched, she was really good with Thunder.

And the time passes; I liked my clan, passed Marshal rank, bought new sunglasses. And, one day, I saw an announcement; the new Shaft gun was launched!! The day he become available, I bought it. He isn’t bad but he is for camper, and I prefer action. I purchased M3 Mammoth, he is too slow, but he is just perfect with drug. I finally bought Freeze and he isn’t bad with Mammoth.

I learned a newspaper was launched. The first edition is very good. I hoped that the other issues would be as good. I especially like “Smoky XT chronicle”. One day later, someone asked me to make a Wasp-Rail battle. I did and really enjoyed it. I added him on skype, and we created a group for people who want to do Wasp-Rail battle. A week later we did a CTF game in station with 5 people in each team, and it was really good. We won, I get the biggest part of the battle fund and during the battle I managed to take the gold box! I go in the garage, and I saw that I was able to realize my dream : have the four 15 k paint in my garage.

Please note that it is a false story.

It is surprising how much can happen as time passes. Smoky to Thunder, Firebird to Freeze, Twins to Ricochet, and Rail to Shaft. All of these things changed as time passed along. Though it would never have happened if smart minds such as those of Evan Thom, Howard Simon, and Armondo Higgins. With out these people, change may never have occurred. All the change had started with an idea. An idea that changed tank warfare for the rest of time. The idea brought to attention that warfare was beginning to have too predictable of an outcome. It all depended on what team had more Fear Machines or Dictators. All other weapons and chassis had become insignificant in comparison. Howard Simon had thought of this one day while watching a battle while camping with his favorite combo that he shared with almost all of the other tank men. Fear Machine and Dictator. He realized that his team of full Fear Machines easily outfought the other team of Smokys and Hunters. After the battle, he realized that every weapon developed was stronger than the previous until the rising of the Fear Machine. He decided to this to attention to his good friends Evan Thom and Armondo Higgins. They all agreed that it was unbalanced and made the higher ranked players extremely more likely to win and claim crystals then the lower ranks who needed them more. They discussed on what to do about the matter and concluded that the developers would soon realize that they needed to equal out the battlefield, and fix it on their own eventually.

Several months later, the three remembered the chat they had, and began to wonder if change would ever occur. Two more months and they decided it wouldn’t and decided to take matters into their own hands. Evan started telling people about how unbalanced the wars are when you really looked at it. Howard started brainstorming each night on ways to fix the problem with the weapon strengths. Armondo continued playing but always joining forces with the weak to try to even the sides.

One night, it hit Howard. All they needed to do was to make new weapons and hulls of all the same average pros and cons to even it out. Everyone would buy these new equal strength weapons because they were all stronger than the Fear Machine. The olden days of tank warfare were soon to end.

The next day he told his two friends about his wonderful idea. They both agreed with him that this would solve the epidemic. The only problems were what the guns would look like, how powerful they would be, and what they would do. After a few days of consulting new ideas with each other, they thought it would work well if the new guns were no more than improved, balanced, and cooler looking versions of the older guns. They called these new improved guns “Tier 2” weapons, the old weapons named “Tier 1”.

They decided that it was time to bring this to the attention of the administrators. They sent to them stating the problem with the balance and their solution to the problem. A week later, they got a letter back telling how the admins loved the idea but wanted more details on these new “Tier 2” weapons. The three hit a wall. They didn’t know where to start. They thought for a couple days until Evan said that they should first figure out how the new weapons would differ from the old weapons. They instantly decided that the guns should be bigger and look cooler than the old ones. Armondo, who was a wonderful artist, decided he would start drawing blueprints and many different pictures of what the new guns could look like. Evan would figure out the stats of each and their upgrades. Howard thought of even more ways that they could make the guns better.

A week later, they all came together again with what they had done. Armondo brought in beautiful pictures for the turrets to look like. The three voted on the ones they liked best for each gun. Evan had stats for each gun that he had made. The way the gun was set up made each gun almost perfectly balanced. Howard could not think of anything to make them any better over the week so he brought no new ideas to the table. Things were looking great for the new guns until Howard realized that none of them really felt like something you would desperately want in your garage and it would be hard to pick one. He brought this to the minds of the other two. Howard then suggested that these new guns should each have something unique about them. They thought on this and decided that this would make the guns even more desirable than before. The had to be careful and make the unique feature balanced with the others though, or these guns would not help anything and the Fear Machine era would arise again with a different name.

Another week of thinking occurred for the three. At their next meeting, they all brought their ideas to the table. First they decided for the new Smoky gun. They decided that since the ammo explodes, they should make they explosions do splash damage to nearby players. For the Firebird 2, they decided to make it an opposite element and have it shoot ice that could actually freeze the opponent. Then, to the new Twins. They thought it would be cool for it to be able to shoot around corners, so they gave the ammo the bouncing feature. Then, for the new Fear Machine. This was the gun they had the most trouble on. They could not figure out a unique thing for it until Armondo brought up the point that none of the new guns so far could be a real efficient sniper. They then all came up with the same idea. A scope mode. The Fear Machine 2 could then be a very efficient sniping gun. Evan modified the stats to involve a sniper scope to the new gun.

Now that they had the guns, they needed the names. Lots of ideas came up. They did a vote for their favorites for each and they selected the names the guns have today. They sent all their well drawn and thought out blueprints and stats to the administration. The admins loved them, and added them over the course time as well as with a few new hulls made by other members of their organization. This was how the amazing guns in your garage today came to be. When you think of how glad you are to have your shiny freeze or shaft or whatever, always remember and be grateful the idea Howard had on that wonderful day.

Tanki Online – The Hacker in Hohloma Part 1

As time passes and I continue to very slowly climb the ranks of Tanki, I feel ignored. My first account has been hacked. All of my friends are great ranks and have great power, while I am left to play alone. My friends are recognized, and I am not. I knew that I need to do something big to get the recognition that they do, but what…..

I sit, playing an Iran CTF and pondering this thought when something catches my eye. It is your average M3 Smoky – M2 Dictator, but something doesn’t seem right about it. I look at the scoreboard to identify the player as TheBest321, but what is shocking about this tank is the score. In the first 10 minutes of the battle, TheBest321 has amassed 750 points! I turn back to the tank, but it is gone. Suddenly, he is racing by me with our flag! The speed is uncanny for an M2 Dictator, so I recognize it as a speed hack. I report him using the Vote control right as I am killed. I spawn near the flag to find TheBest321 sitting right next to me. I find yet another odd thing about him. On the top of his Smoky lies an ominous bright green dot. He is then kicked out of the battle by the moderators, thanks to the Vote control. I return to my garage to change weapons and see one of my friends talking in the lobby. I invite him to join a battle, and he accepts.

As soon as we join, we are greeted by 4 of the red team members at our base. They are sieging our flag. We are easily defeated by ricochets, and my friend types in the chatbox, “Let’s leave. This is a lost cause.” I tell him to hold on, for a flash of bright green light, not unlike the one I saw in Iran, catches my eye. I raise my cameras to find 21CoolDude, who is using a flag hack to easily steal points from his team of ricochets. Again, a bright green dot graces the top of his gun, an m2 thunder. I tell my friend to look at this tank, and he gasps in horror. I ask him what is wrong, and he tells me to leave and come to his garage immediately.

When we are at the garage, he gets onto his computer and types in “the hacker in hohloma”. We are greeted by only one link: a newspaper article from 15 years ago, today. Hacker in Hohloma taken down by Thunderbirds, it read. My friend told me to read it through, and so I did.

“Today, after 3 months of wreaking havoc on the battles of Tanki Online, the Hacker in Hohloma was finally taken down today on the battlefield of Chernobyl. He was defeated by none other than the Thunderbirds Clan. “Yes, it was hard work, but this is what we can do when we work as a team,” leader DaMan32 said after the victory. “If we can beat 300 tankmen with only 30 of our clan members imagine what we can do in a clan war!” he joked. The hacker, who controlled unsuspecting players with a bright green light on top of their tank, will have all of his possessions stripped from him and will be forced to leave the game. He is the reason for the abundance of hackers, and also for the abundance of battles in Chernobyl. According to our sources from that city, he has been teaching new hacks and tricks to his minions there for at least 6 weeks. He has also been hiding out, using the nuclear reactors there to further his control and use of innocent tankmen for his own selfish reasons. “Thanks for all the help with this hacker problem,” developer Elder_one said. “We couldn’t have done this without all of the Tanki community helping to report these hackers. So, in return for your help, we are giving each and every member of Tanki 2,000 crystals as a reward. Have fun, and see you on the battlefield!”

“No way… no way,” I manage to utter. “So, this means…”

“Yes,” he said grimly. “This has happened once before, 15 years ago, on this very date. And, this is the day Tanki has finally let him reregister. No one thought he would even think about reregistering, but it seems that he has.

“So what do we do?” I say.

“First, we have to notify the developers,” he said. “That way, they will know about the massive amounts of bans that will soon come. Then, we only have one other very taxing thing to accomplish…”

“What’s that?” I ask.

“Reunite the only group of tankers that was ever able to stop this menace: The Thunderbirds.

While we were notifying the developers through PMs, something was happening back in the town of Chernobyl…..

“Finally, my army will arise again! And this time, not even those meddling Thunderbirds will be able to stop me!” the Hacker roared out before the crowd of tankmen controlled by his nuclear generator. They all cheered half-heartedly, as if in a trance, about 700 in number, all wearing the Hohloma paint that the generator had forced them to buy.

“Tonight, we rise! And nothing will stop us from taking over the world of Tanki!”

fill.pngfill.pngfill.pngfill.pngfill.pngfill.pngfill.pngfill.pngfill.pngAs time passes

fill.pngAn ordinary boy is searching around the internet for war games. He finds a few, but wasn’t very satisfied with them. Then he came across “Tanki Online” in one of his searches. He thought ‘what a weird name...’ but clicked it anyways. It looked very cool to him. He liked the background picture of a battle. The tanks in the picture were unlike any he had seen before. He watches the promo video for the game. After it is done, he thinks, ‘I got to try this game!’ So he clicked the start button. He sees the loading screen. It takes a while, but he doesn’t mind. He clicks “Try the game before registration!” And when he loads, he comes to see that he has the little wimpy tank that got bullied in the video…

fill.png‘Aww come on!’ he thinks,’ How long am I going to be stuck with this lousy thing?’ He then tries to move the tank with the arrow keys. He found it very easy to control. He tries the space bar, and the tank shoots. He is alone in the battle, so he starts shooting the walls. The gun leaves bullet hole type marks in the wall. ‘This is kind of cool,’ he thinks. Then someone finally entered the match, someone who was a different rank than him. This player spawns right in front of the boy’s tank, and they start shooting at each other. Most shots from the boy miss the other player, because of his opponent’s shots. The player then speaks to the boy in the chat. ‘Hi’ says the player. Then the boy try’s to respond, but it won’t let him. It says ‘The chat is available for players beginning from Private.’ Then the boy thinks, ‘Well then I guess I have to rank up to that.’ After getting no response from the boy, the player then resumes shooting. The two continue battling for several minutes.

fill.pngThe battle ends, and the boy is just about to rank. The boy starts shooting the player as it says , ‘I have to leave now, bye’. Then the boy kills him. ‘Congratulations! You’ve obtained new rank <>’ The player then realizes this and says, ‘Hey you ranked, nice job.’ The boy reply’s ‘Thanks.’ The two players talk for a few minutes then the player (who we’ll call Dan) then says ‘You better hit the registration button, I have to go, see ya’ around.’ The boy replies, ‘Bye’ Then Dan leaves the battle. The boy does as he was told to do, and clicks registration. Fills out the information he needed to, and carries on with play. The boy (who we will now call Tom) joined a “Sandbox” battle. As he enters, he see’s someone who is apparently speaking Russian, chatting with another player. Each of them a different rank than Tom, they start to battle. Tom realized that their guns seemed to shoot faster, and do more damage. But never the less, kept going until the end of the battle.

fill.pngHe then goes to the “Garage” to look at his tank. His gun called “Smoky” and his tank called “Wasp.” He looks at the specifications of both, and look at the prices for each upgrade, then sees he must rank to upgrade both his Smokey and Wasp. He also looks at the many different paints. And see’s tanks and hulls that can be unlocked in future ranks. Some, much faster, and bigger than the one he uses now. For several days, Tom plays, ranks up, and upgrades his gun and hull. He unlocks new guns, like the “Firebird” and “Twins.” And hulls, like “Hunter” and “Titan.”

fill.pngA week later, Tom see’s Dan in a battle. He had ranked up quite a bit as well. Tom enters the battle joining the same team as his friend. The two played good together. Helped each other get flags. They showed great team work. And of course, at that point, Tom was hooked on the game. He couldn’t stop playing. He loved the action, the intensity of the battle. And that’s what would keep Tom, and his friend Dan, kept playing along, all the way up to the high ranks, like many people do. This can show that as time passes, you can accomplish a lot, and make friends along the way…

"As time passes"

It was just another evening when I, Austin, decided to drive around my town, “Kungur.” I was just driving around some houses with my wasp when I saw the most beautiful tank ever. I was too nervous at the time to go talk to her so I just drove back home. I laid on my bed and thought about what I should do. After some thinking I fell asleep. The next morning I decided to ask my friends for some advice. Most of them said stuff like, “Dude asking her on a date is like bringing a nerf gun to war.” or “Austin! Don’t go on a suicide mission!!!” I was really confused so I went to my father and told him, “Uh.. well there is this really pretty tank I saw yesterday. I really like her. Do you have any advice?” He told me, “Son.. go for a DIRECT ATTACK. Just ask her to watch a movie with you or something!”

Well, I decided to go and talk to her. So I went driving around town and when I found her. I said, “Hey.” She smiled and asked me, “Hi, whats your name?” My face turned red and I told her, “Austin. Whats yours?” “Catherine, but you can call me Katy.” “Uh well, I was wondering if you want to go watch Smoky XT Chronicles with me.” I asked her nervously. “Sure, when should we watch it?” Katy asked me. “Uh.. um.. Saturday night?” “Okay. I’ll be there.” she told me. “Ok great! See you there.” I told her as my face turned as red as a tomato.

I logged into my Tankbook account and searched up, “Catherine.” I found her and clicked on her name. I sent her a friend request, and in a couple of minutes she accepted. I started talking to her through chat and got to know more about her without being face to face with her. We had lots of things in common and I thought we would be a perfect couple.

Saturday finally came and I met her in the movie theater in our town. We watched it and had a good time. We were dating for about 5 years until I thought Katy was a complete different person. She acted different and It felt like I didn’t even know her anymore. Katy told me she felt the same about me and thought it was be best if we just ended our relationship. So we did.

I was lonely without her, but I learned something important. I learned NOT to date at a young age. I learned that Tanks go through changes as time passes. As tanks grow older they change. I learned that I should date when I’m older when tanks don’t go through as much changes. I decided to live life until I was at a good age to date.

When I was an adult, about 25 years old. I met a perfect female tank for me. We started to date and soon got married. And we lived Happily Ever After.

It is the year 2012.I am on my way to be Marshall. In a place where Tanks have a war. There are boxes of blue colour which gives you only 1 crystall,There are really helpful boxes, which are coloured in oramge and named as 'GOLD BOX'.I join many battles to collect crystals and win them to upgrade the hulls and turrents in my garage. The bestcombination in the garage for me is Mammoth and Thunder with a colour named Rustle.I wish i had these and so that i can win battles easily. But i have theturrent railgun and the hull as Dictator. This helps me a little bit.I sometimes buy drugs to win games and they are really helpful.I get into a battle and start warming up.Suddenly i see a tank coming towards me.It had Viking and Freeze with the colour of Champion.Thats really the best combination i ever seen.I suddenly realized that going back and keep on shhoting it will be easier to kill but ive chosen to hide behind a wall. Then it just turned back and went through other tanks to kill.My team was leading to victory but we didn't fail.We were survivng.Suddenly a Tank joined in our team and it's level was MArshall. It had the combination of Mammoth,Freeze and Python. The game was going really good until i became the last.I became angry and suddenly i recognized that i had drugs and i thinked to use them. After capturing 3 flags and killin many tanks ive reached to the 2'nd.When i captured the 3'rd flag i just saw the gold box coming down and there was no one near it accept me...We was in the battle named Sandbox.I drugged again so no one could kill me and i would take it.Once i went near it everyonr started drugging and coming towards me.Many of them shot me and my healt was too low.I healed my self and got the GOLD BOX.I was not dead yet...I went to take antoher flag and on the way my drugging just got over and i statred slowing down.A tank just came behind me and killed me.Thank god there was another tank beside me which killed the tank behin me.He then took the flag and gace it to me.I told him to take it back and gave it to him to capture it.Then some of my team mates started to quit the battle. And we were no more a strong team. Then i started thinking carefully to win the enemies.I had the combination of Railgun,Dictator and the colour Forester.I've hidden behind bushes and killed many enemies which tried to take the flag.We were leading to victory. What we needed is just 1 team mate.after several minutes 1 tank joined the game again with us.That tank had a combination of Shaft,Mammoth and Lead.It really helped us a lot.It killed all the enemies which try to come and take our flag.Suddenly another GOLD BOX arrives down and i miss it.Someone else has taken it.i was really sad of it.But still the war was going on and this time they were leading to victory.I've asked to all my teammates to use drugs. There was 7:52 minutes left for the battle end.Everyone statred durgging and we captured 15 flags.Still they were leading to victory. They had captured 47 flags and we have captured 45 flags. At the last 2 minutes i drugged and i've captued 2 flags and on the way to the 3'rd flag i've taken it and there was no tank that will kill me.Suddenly i've seen enemy tanks drugged they killed me and the flag was still there no one returned it.At last one of my team mates took the flag and thre was 24 second to the battle end.Shaft killed the tank which had our flag. There was no one to return the flag accept me...

The tank which had the enemy flag has died and i've taken the flag and gave it to shaft then i went to return the flag and there was 3 seconds left.I was near the flag and at the last second i returned the flag and we capturd it.I've became the first. And i won 342 crystals with the GOLD BOX 442 crystals. That was the best battle i ever had in my Tanki Online life...
