I love everything about this update, it is a solid fluid concept that many new and old tankmen will surely enjoy.

 

However, a problem arises, it is hard to tell the paint of a tank and the modifications of its equipment.

 

For example, the tell-tale sign of an M3 Shaft staring at you was its blood red eye, now there is nothing to indicate whether I am staring down the barrel of an M3 or M0 Shaft.

The same applies to other guns such as Freeze, Firebird, Railgun, Thunder, and Isida.

The same also applies to tanks but it is not as difficult as guns to figure out.

 

There are also too many greyed areas on the tanks, maybe let the paint cover a few of these areas so it's easier to distinguish between Zeus and Blue, for example.

 

One thing I love is the new Ricochet design :thumbup:

Control Points is also a very heated new mode, sometimes the battles get more intense than they do in CTF.

The scattering of Red and Blue spawn points is a good thing, I am used to spawn points being divided into certain areas :lol:

 

Anyhow this is all I have to say, and perhaps you should allow drugs and crystals to fall in Polygon now :wink:

Can you at least state why you did not like it...offer something at least slightly constructive to your post? :(

Still haven't check the control point mode, but the graphics are just plain ugly and what is most important - misleading. The tank now looks more like some Nike Air Max model than the tank itself. Furthermore, I can't differentiate the weapons from the body, and paints are also much harder to see, so I don't know clearly the strength of my enemy. And I can't even differentiate the friends from foes! It's impossible to fight this way.

 

The strength of weapons' impact is diminished and also misleading, so when m3 thunder hits me, it feels like I've been hit with a m1 smoky and I don't have a clear feeling that my tank has been seriously damaged.

 

If you're firing with thunder, the target is much harder to even be seen against the background, and the bonuses (drops) are nearly invisible, being all pail and murky versions of themselves, and falling against the grass. I tried freeze next, and I don't even see that the target is frozen and/or trapped.

 

The only thing I like is the caterpillar!

 

 

Overall, maybe this new graphic stuff should be saved for some future update, when the illustrators can come up with more useful graphic pattern. This one is just underdeveloped, and seriously damage the feel, usage and likeness of the battle. The best solution would be for user to chose himself whether he'd like to use graphic style 1 (the old one) or 2 (this one).

Hi,

 

I created a new thread which was closed to "keep discussion in one thread". Agree, if there would be ONLY DISCUSSION and NOT A SINGLE POST saying only "Yeaaah! It`s awesome, it`s joy to play" or "No, I did not like it". ...

 

So, here's what I've got to say (and please don't pick on my english, I'm not a native speaker):

 

First let me point to some differences of how developers and players might look at the result. If 99% of the hard work is done the developers have a solid reason to be proud, however players (customers) might focus on the 1%. This is not whining -- who would like a car that work 99% -- it means it will fail you in 4 days a year ..

 

Anyway, whats good

1. The new look is fresh and despite of more details the framerate has gone up so even on my laptop its not a problem any more and I can even switch on the skybox.

2. Tanks look like plastic toys -- very appropriate :lol:

 

Questionable:

3. Explosion when tanks is destroyed -- looks artificial and if I had a tuning option I'd switch it off.

4. Ricochet plasma balls look a lot like twins electric balls -- I cant imagine why that was changed.

5. While the tracks are kinda moving, from a side tanks look still like monolithic boxes -- that looks really weird. In TO 2.0 preview the sides were animated too so it can be done. I will be looking forward to see that change too.

 

Again about DCC and moneymaking:

The updated tip says "visit us every day and you will be rewarded by a gift"

Since DCC is not a gift diving DCC instead of gift is cheap cheating on clients.

 

There are other ways to make money

 

Lieutenant_Me proposed "why not to sell billboards as advertising space?". Whats wrong with that idea -- absolutely nothing. Its brilliant.

 

If needed, DCC's could be offered additionally on random days -- come on, how much would TO loose, if they would give supplies every day. If this is really too much, just reduce the amount of the daily gift. Just don't fool customers.

I tend to agree with most others here. I like what you are trying to do but the graphics don't quite work. The two main issue issues are discriminating between M0 and M3 weapons. The hulls we'll get used to but the weapons are just very indistinct from each other. I'm sure that the params of each weapon and the way they work are the same but it doesn't feel that way. I've found that the cheap flat colours (like orange) actually look much better than the expensive ones.

 

Also, everything feels too cartoony - it is actually LESS realistic now than it used to be. Feels too clean and shiny - not gritty and dirty....

 

CP is great though.

I don't like the New Graphic, the New Graphic looks like cartoons, I think it is for children only ..

all my hard work for building a powerful garage is waste of time, What a lost :( ..

I have every gun and all powerful paints and hulls, but what the benefit ? tanki became terrible ..

 

any way to be fair Control Point is amazing idea ..

i love them both but the thunder shot looks like a smokey shot (please make it bigger ) + i love the new graphics and the control points =) :)

before it was like sony 1 (Playstation 1) game

but now its much more better

 

ho didn't like it he doesn't have Taste

i will still buy in this game +1

I didn't perceive all aspects of the changes, but it feels great...

 

For a while, all of us will have something that will make the game more interesting.

I wasn't able to see and to weigh all changes, but so far so good.

 

Did You noticed movement of tank caterpillars?

 

Splendid.. :)

 

Sincerest congratulation to developer team on brave step forward...

Wow CP is amazing! And thunders have a huge advantage... They can shoot from far away and get alot of people at once by the splash damage :3

 

EDIT: Will CP mode be added to all the maps? As I can see theres only a few maps that allow you to play it. :?
