Scoring in CTF

I have become painfully aware that if you decide to hold back and protect the flag, you get no points for doing so unless you blow up the opposing team's tank and then you only get points for the kill. I was playing CTF, there were several attempts and successes on stealing our flag, mainly because no one was guarding it. Why? Because, point-wise, it doesn't pay. :x

 

I have a suggestion: If the opposing team member is killed within the proximity of the flag mount while carrying the flag, extra points be awarded for the kill, giving the one guarding the flag a chance at some bonus points. OR give bonus point for every 5 kills of the opposing team carrying the flag. If the kill is made outside of your team's area, no extra points are given, except for the kill.

 

Some play the game strictly for the kill points, others play strictly for stealing the flag and scoring (bonus points awarded for both). But no bonus points for preventing the steal.

If you kill an enemy with your flag, you already get extra points. Also when you are guarding the flag, you can get points for returning your teamflag.
