you can't hide away into the shadow

if you hide :ph34r: in the shadow and your enemy has not turn on this functionality he can see you :blink:

Is it just me? Or the shadows make the whole experience look dull and alot darker. I personally don't like it, but I can get used to it.

i agree. I don't see it, I know where it should be but It just isn't there. It should be in the middle bottom of the page. I play on a Windows7 so would that be the problom? It should be there but it just isn't! Please help as I really want to try the shadow effect!

You have to turn on hardware acceleration.

I don't understand, i look into my settings (under performance) , there is no dynamic settings, and just the shadows setting still isnt it there, can you tell me what to do?

Wow! Just look at it! Everything that surrounds you on the battle now casts shadows. This innovation will allow you to enjoy the atmosphere of battles even more.

In order to see the shadows at "Tanki Online" you need to put the appropriate checkbox in the game settings. By default, this functionality is turned off, as it can significantly lower the FPS on computers with low performance graphics cards.

Of course, the option "Dynamic shadows" works only with support for hardware acceleration in Windows based systems and MacOS.

 

Attention! In the Linux operating system has no support for hardware acceleration for Flash, respectively, dynamic shadows will not appear there.

 

Hide in the shadows of your tank and invent new tactics! See you in the battle!

Awesome update. If you turn mip-mapping off it seems like the trailer of tanki 2.0 that i saw on alternativa platform. Well my fps just went 60 to 55. Really would not affect me a bit

For those who can not see the extended options in the settings.... Your graphics card does not support hardware acceleration! Sadly I feel that the majority of users are running desktops & laptops that are a couple of years old or even more (or new budget machines with standard graphics cards). These are the users that Tanki Devs SHOULD be using as a benchmark for gameplay and not just those with high end gaming desktops or the few gaming laptops that support high end graphics (that cost over a $/£1000 a pop).

Tanki appear to be steamrolling ahead and alienating the majority of users by working towards accelerated graphics usage. If this was a single purchase retail PC or Console game then that is the way it usually works. They are ignoring the principle ideals of browser based gaming which is to use the lowest common denominator to enable the largest number of users the smoothest gaming experience (amongst other things).

They have headed down the wrong path for the majority of users and sadly until they take a sidestep and re-evaluate their development plan, the majority of us are going to be stuck with the problems we currently experience and worse beyond.

Until change is instigated at the development level, whether that be a partial technical roll-back or something substantial, lag, freeze, reduced fps and impossibly ******ed gameplay is here to stay!

Dynamic shadows the game more appealing to new players but truthfully its more for looks, For those that don't have the right RAM and Graphics Card... It just slows down gameplay. Good thing I have a new computer :D

When I play with dynamic shadows my fps goes to 0.55. I don't know what's going on. i'd rather just have regular shadows. My fps is 23.31 when i have regular. Without none of them, I have

a fps of 54.01

Make sure you disable fog, shadows under tank and soft particles.

It worked for me..

 

Other then that, I think this is the best upgrade so far. ;)
