If everyone is using a spoiler to conceal their reply, all the posts look the same. If everyone is just using the same text color, all the posts look alike, but don't look exactly the same.

Although I don't think using a spoiler is flood either.

I think they invented a spoiler button to prevent some things from being spoiled, unless the reader insisted in knowing what was going to happen.
