how is shafts damage calculated?

I have just got shaft and it is cool but i was wondering in snipe mode does time heating up change how much damage you actually do?

Yes. Once in scope mode you get a power bar filling up the longer you hold space. Once you reach peak, you're at the full power (180 for M3)

M3 Shaft is actually pretty good without scope though. (28 - 30 or something around that)

A great railer with M3 rail is better than M0, 1, 2, and sometime M3 shaft if the shaft isnt skilled at all...

''great railers'' are really rare, and they can't kill you in 1 shot... more like 3 or something.

At that time the shaft has already found you and eradicated your little tank.

M3 shaft is so easy in use with their huge damage. ^_^

I think that unless you want to stay put and let someone else take the gold box, that you should get railgun.

Shaft is kinda weak when un-prepared, it gets K.O.'d, and it has slow turning.

Railgun on the other hand, when un-prepared, it gos boom, and its foe is gone.

Shaft m0 is not worth it. Wait til you get a higher rank and can afford the m3 version ;)
