Consider yourself a budding poet? Think that you can put together a rhyme? Reckon your have a creative spirit inside of you? Good imagination? Then this competition's for you!

Introducing, “Festive Tanki Poet!”

1. The requirements of the competition:
1.1. You must write a poem and post the poem in a reply to this thread with the account that you wish to enter the competition with.
1.2. The poem must be less than 300 words in length. About 75-150 words will be normal.
1.3. The poem must be related to both Tanki and the festive season (Thanksgiving, Diwali, Christmas, New Year's Day, Chinese New Year, etc)
1.4. The poem should be divided into stanzas.
2. Rules:
2.1. No plagiarism. Any copying from other people or from the internet is forbidden.
2.2. No discussion in this thread.
2.3. Stories will not be considered.
3. You will be judged on:
3.1. Content – how well a story your poem brings forward, how well you write your poem.
3.2. Rhythm – how well your poem flows together.
3.3. Presentation – how well you have created suitable stanza divisions.

Closing Date: 22/01/13
The judges: skitee, chriswu, conanthedestroyer, Lhamster (Note: All other reporters are not involved in the judging and thus are entitled to enter if they so desire)

It was the week before New Years eve,

And all through the server's all tank man and women alike were logging on,

all were clicking,

all were upgrading,

all were buying,

all were preparing themselves for the days that were to come up,

for those days drugs, sweat, and anger will be revealed all over the tanki community,

For the season of festivities and great fun will be but over and the challenges were starting to get all challenging once again.

Mods were Moding, Consultants Consulting, and DJ's DJing.

You and I were playing that one special map that we oh-so like.

From here to Generalissimo we will always play,

and even after that! Shall we continue as friends and allies both on and off the battle field.

Some people dont like winter,

some people think its to cold,

I think they just like to complain,

or maybe there just to old.

 

I like to sit inside,

playing tanki online all day long,

playing to the rythem of the snow falling,

tapping on the roof.

 

Racing around shooting and killing,

with hornet or viking,

stealing flags and healing friends,

Swerving through servers,

filled with Iran and Silence.

 

Some people dont like winter,

some people think its to cold,

but I love winter,

because I play tanki with the snow.

I can hear this thunder, oh what a sound,

For me a new gun, that I have just found.

I surely didn’t know what I have been missing,

This awesome weapon that others are dissing.

As I have tried others that are so very lame!

For to part with my money, there’s no better reason!

'Tis is the day,

When dawn brought anew,

The Tanki crew, which were some of the few,

Went to battle, with glory a-spew.

 

Their enemies trembled, frosted with fear,

For how would they run from the Tanki crew?

They were jolly and happy, full of holiday spirit -

Giving, thanks, appreciation, in which they sang with their lyrics.

 

They seemed... happy, paints in the sun, shining,

While we sat here, whining.

Would we be defeated, for they were oh-so-happy!

So quickly and swiftly, and quite so soon, the moment of truth blew spirit anew.

 

So engines roared, and bullets flew,

It was battle - for all but a few.

Suddenly, our flag was taken,

We were utmost shaken!

 

Soon one flag was taken,

Soon another was too,

So soon we too realized,

Without any holiday spirit, we would go adieu!

New Year, New resolutions,

Now think what you can do for a solution.

Everyone kills you time to time,

They think you're no better than some sticky grime.

 

So now since it's the New Year,

Plus it's coming near,

Think what you're going to do,

So you won't be so blue.

 

Then get a railgun,

It’ll be so much fun!

Piercing enemies one by one,

Will make your rating as high as the sun.

 

If not, get freeze.

It will give your enemies a cool breeze.

Slowing everyone down,

So you could race and get the crown.

 

Drugging will be a blast!

It’ll help you to win fast!

Double armor, toxic, nitro, and mine,

Plus if you use health it’ll make you shine!

 

Those are the few things to help you win,

So for New Years you could have a grin.

Always upgrade your hulls and guns,

Keep playing tanki it’s a ton of fun!

Do you know a game called Tanki online?

I bet you play it all the time!

There is a turret called Thunder,

which goes with the tank called Hunter!

 

If your good, you will have fans,

If your naughty, you will be full of bans!

I hate a thing called lags,

it makes tanki, look in rags.

 

I'm waiting for new year sale,

i hope it doesn't fail!

I'll upgrade isida to heal,

and earn enough for a hearty Chritsmas meal!

 

Should i go for thunder?

I hope its not a blunder!

Or should i go for firebird?

Its really cool, i heard.

 

Halloween intruduced a new map,

But its name was on Caps!

HALLOWEEN its name was,

but i think it was fort knox, with a bit of moss!

 

There is a weapon called Railgun,

of all i have to say, oh its the best gun!

Its power, how good it feels,

oh to play it, i bet you will skip your meals!

its worth the money, if you play well,

if not? well your in hell!

 

Need a tank?

go for wasp!

for the enemy, you will be hard to grasp!

Or go for hornet, for its very light,

just don't get into the Shaft's sight!

 

Say your a man?

Then join our clan!

Say your solo?

your just hollow!

 

 

So to conclude,

Tanki rocks, with a lots of costly tanks

So get ready to break your bank!

I turn to the left, what do I see?

I look behind, someone's after me,

I swivel my turret and open fire,

someone's life is turning dire.

Then i see, ahead of me,

the flag which is the christmas tree

I nitro towards it,

to take all the plaudits,

but railgun fires,

my tank explodes,

and that's the end of me on the road.

 

Ten secs later, I've respawned again,

some tanks are gonna be pawned again,

then i charge my rico blazing,

yellow ball of light destroying,

ripping vikings, mammoths, hornets,

blasting them into a million pieces.

Then comes my bane,

the dreaded shaft,

its shots are fast

sending hapless tanks into the past.

And then i start to sob,

my game is over,

"I've been robbed"I think

And then i realise that it is not a matter of life and death.

It's much more than that.

On the first day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, a mammoth and a kill spree.

On the second day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth and two goldbox's in a palm tree.

On the third day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth, two goldbox's and three Railgun's which were M3.

 

On the fourth day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth, two goldbox's, three Railguns and a four hornet's which stung me like bee's.

On the fifth day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth, two goldbox's, three Railguns, four hornets and five Titan's killing E'rybody.

On the sixth day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth, two goldbox's, three Railguns, four hornets, five Titans and six Isidia healing all of thee.

 

On the seventh day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth, two goldbox's, three Railguns, four hornets, five Titans, six Isidia's and a seven vikings crossing the sea.

On the eighth day of Christmas my best friend gave to me, one mammoth, two goldbox's, three railgun's, four hornet's, five titan's, six isidia's, seven vikings and eight different paints for me.

How well it is I remember,

The rebalance had come,

Bringing crystals for some,

Updating hulls and turrets that only succumb,

To paints coloured with emerald and ember.

Fighting battles of great scale,

My Wasp is what I use,

And the Smoky turret whose,

Low damage means I usually fail

(But the critical hit sometimes prevails!).

At last, discounts of 30 percent,

My 5000 crystals lying unspent,

Should I use them on the Firebird,

With an ability it has been heard,

For flames on a defender to ferment,

And destroy without the attacker present?

But no, I might purchase Freeze,

Whose chemicals can destroy with ease,

And cause tanks to slow down,

Making sure they are around,

To be hit by Shafts renowned,

For sniping with expertise.

Purchases aside, the New Year update,

Which the sale it does predate,

As gold boxes start to fall,

With 200 crystals in each haul,

And a Hunter M0 for all,

With secret hints for players to collate,

And a 2013 map for tanks to celebrate!

After my parents fall fast asleep

I creep down the stairs without making a peep

I walk into our game room

And take out the computer

 

I turn it on and type in a T

But the computer already knows I want to go to Tanki

I click on server two

Because that's where I met my very first crew

 

In a battle there's Isida's, Shafts, Freeze's and not to mention a Thunder

Who's controlled by a guy named Wonder

And he got the 200crystal gold box

Don't ask me how he did it but this guy rocks

 

I'm rank Staff Sergeant and I have a Shaft

Impossible you say?

Well not when there's a 30% discount,

No Way!!

 

It's Christmas Eve and I'm waiting for Santa to come

When suddenly I hear him take flight

-MERRY CHRISTMAS-he says

And where's my Bud Light (the drink)?

 

It's getting late

I'm afraid to say

So I must go upstairs
