How to make xp shared

I've noticed that in some of the games I've played, I get xp for dealing damage to a tank that then gets killed by someone else, as opposed to only getting xp for finishing off a tank. What determines whether the former or the latter is the way xp is given, and how can I change this when I'm creating a battle?

In Team Death Matches (TDM) you are given xp for damaging a tank that then gets killed by one of your teammates. In Capture the Flag (CTF) if you steal the enemy flag and then lose it but one of your teammates picks it up and captures it, you are given xp for carrying it part of the way. Now remember, your teammate gets xp too--it doesn't all go to you.

 

In Death Matches (DM) you are only given xp if you destroy a tank, not if someone kills a tank that you have been damaging.

 

As for Control Points (CP).......I don't really play in that mode, so I don't know how it works.
