FPS suggestions

My computer is not the best but i can still play tanki on it. the 2 new maps really push it to ist limits. I am suggesting if you could make a high FPS setting map and a low Fps setting map. this enables players that might not be able to get the best plugins for their computer. i play a game called Rigs Of Rods,(look it up if you dont know) it is a softbody simulator, witch means it is way more complicated than tanki, you can get terrains with low or high FPS setting with it like bushes that would be in the high setting would not be in the low setting to cut down on what has to load. making it faster to play. I would like the creators, other tankipeople to look at this.

the best way around this is to have several servers around the world that way players from their respective part fo the world only connect to the designated servers closer to them. thers only a handful of continents and tanki is rich as fk.

 

I think you nailed it on (part) of the solution, but I suspect the problem is more fundemental than that.

Tanki is limited to 2500 (players) x 28 (servers) at any one time at the moment, say 70,000 at any one time or ~1.7m "player hours" a day at most; this is the biggest limit they have on making money.

If it was as simple as adding more hardware then they could do what everyone else does (Facebook, Netflicks etc) and just get time on the large-scale cloud servers (AWS, Azure etc.) - which is pay-as-you-go.

I suspect there are either some bigger (ie expensive) software issues to contend with, or that Tanki is so computationally expensive its not economic to run on the cloud....
