Why everyone is a big fan of Prodigy. It is not so good as you are saying. Railguns are not most popular weapons after rebalance, thunders are, and there are biggest chance to hide from railgun, but Thunder always hit. That's why you need to buy paint for thunder, and then look at others:

1. Emerald

2. Rustle

3. Cedar(If you have poor money)

 

This list does not include paint from biggest ranks. Maybe some forgot.

I think it depends a lot on the hull you are using!

 

Before the rebalance I was a Hornet only user and never used any other paint then Prodigi. Hornet/Thunder/Prodigi was my favorite combination :)

 

However, after the rebalance I have been looking out for Wasp/Smoky since I am in need for speed. After some calculations I found out that Wasp (unlike hornet before balance) will most likely never survive 2 shots from railgun, making it a less effective paint. Perhaps Picasso is a better choice for Wasp, I just don't know. Any thoughts on this matter? Perhaps someone has some experience already using Wasp with Prodigy?

 

I know I'm getting more off topic... oh well... anybody using Wasp/Thunder? Please don't give me reasoning like, you need a strong hull to camp. Loads of people before the update weren't fond of Hornet/Thunder either, but it worked very well for me. I just want an answer about the stability of this combination compared to Hornet/Thunder before the balance.

Picasso is good paint actually it has good protection, but for rail i would choose prodigi.

ps: why do you use wasp? thunder is for campping use mammoth or Titan!

You forgot the fact that railguns are now able to do more damage than shafts or thunders in one single shot, its'a burst shot. It packs a big punch suddenly. Thunder is more sustained damage over time where the damage is constant and the fact that you can easily hide from thunders too and still living. This especially goes to all my fellow hornet/wasp fans out there.

But railguns are very rare. ;)

And also it depends from map, because it is easier to hide from railgun, thunder does not need to get direct hit, and also it shoots bang, and it is not waiting some seconds as railgun. :)

i bought my m3 rail m3 viking and prodogi. i cound get hit with another m3 rail and it does less than a third of my health and the shaft and thunder resistances are an added bonus. for long distance battles i'd say prodogi is the best!
