Battles ending before the clock runs out

I noticed some battles ending before the time on the clock runs out.

the last time i was in one that was 30 minutes long and it ended after less that 15 minutes.

how come?

another thing, when viewing the battle list from the members area, a battle can have the clock run out of time

but instead of resetting to the original time for a new match, the clock changes to 0:0-1 and remains like that

why?

The first case: Maybe apart from time limit, there was a kill/flag/control point limit.

Second case: Just a glitch, it goes back to normal after some time.
