Suicide and Point Prevention

I know you can suicide from pressing "del" however I also get a "Aznable has committed suicide" when get killed while shooting the thunder too close.

 

Sometimes when I'm trading shots with another player I only see the "Aznable has committed suicide" message on the kill counter at the upper right but no message for anyone recieving credit for my death. (Blahblahblastah has killed Aznable ...etc)

 

My question is, does the lack of a kill message mean that no one has recieved credit for my death if I suicide through splash damage?

^Wel, i`m sure u meant "Aznable self-destructed” and not suicide :) . Well that’s how Thunder is. There`s a certain distance to which u have to keep urself away from other tanks or walls or whatever, if not you will also be impacted(loss ur health) by ur own shot. So that was, what was happening in ur case. Wen u combat other tanks very close, ur shot also affects u. So, if u get destroyed by ur own SHOT , the other player cannot take the credit 4 dat.

I dont exactly remember the distance factor things,..so hopefully someone will elaborate and make you undertsand.

If you get killed by your own splash damage you will most likely see this: ''Azanable self destructed''

And this means no one got points for that kill.

I do it all the time in DM's and TDM... it's an advantage; your enemies can't score points while you can.

It also works with ricochet, but it's a lot harder.

Im guilty of suiciding sometimes... Some might think its an 'ugly' thing to do, but well, it's a habit!

 

Plus, sometimes it's a bit fun to be annoying. I never annoy teammates, but pushing enemys down from cliffs, suiciding, or trick them and stuff... all part of the game. Real humiliation kills :)

It might seem fun to u guyz, but its definitely not cool. In DM not TDM, its really annoying when players do such things. If there are like 10 players then atleast its ok, But when there are only 2 or 3, why do they have to do dat. In DM, i usually tell them not to do so, if they don listen, i just leave, cos its no point playing wen the other one just self destruct.

Also, it becomes all the more irritating when, ur thunder opponent is ur higher rank. I wud never self-destruct in a DM if the players are below me (or even above me), unless they started it offcourse. Like today, I was playing in sandbox with this guy who was 5 ranks(three red stars) above me. he had m2 mammoth and m2 thunder. He kept shooting himself, when he is about to die. I told him not to do that, but unfortunately he didn understand english. I played for a while and i nevr self-destruct to convey him the message that i don do such, and that he shud not either. But... :angry: ..so had to leave

Its just a GAME guys..atleast lets play fairly and enjoy nah!!

Another good thing to do is to drop the flag just before you get killed. That way the enemy doesn't get the extra 10xp xD

Oh how I love doing that ^. If you self-destructed then you killed yourself, not anyone else. That's why they don't get points.

agreed 110%. 'Unintentional' self destruct meaning you killed yourself while killing your enemy because they are too close to you is normal. 'Intentional' self destruct be it thunder or rico gunners is considered unethical and the the worst of them all is jumping off the cliff after you shot other tanks and seeing them coming for you.I considered the later as a coward player in real life. <_<

Btw, I've been using thunder for a year before the RB and I'm happy with my rank as I am not a Buyer.., I EARN my rank and will continue to do so.

A point to consider, if an enemy is always self destructing, then his opponent will tend to play a drugging game(especially Rail and shaft gunners) to make it a 1 shot 1 kill situation, thus making the whole game uninteresting / costly. :rolleyes:
