Tanks Running Around In Circles

If your score in the game is low, you have nothing to lose by refreshing or leaving. Sometimes I will wait (not touching any key) to see if the game will continue because if I refresh all my points have been wiped. This has happened a couple of times when I 've been close to winning quite a few crystals.

If the game doesn't respond after something like 20 seconds I get out.

reload the page is the best solution, you wont lose any points even the game is over during your refreshing, you will still be rewarded with points and crystals,

refresh the page if nothing comes back in 5 seconds, so you can be back to game as quick as you can,

First time I ever refreshed, I was hoping all my points would still be there when I returned - I lost everything and had to start from scratch again. The same thing happened in every other match where I reloaded the game - about 15 times. Why did I continue to reload games when I knew I would lose all my points ? Because in each case I always tried to return to battle to help the team.

Also, sometimes after I pressed refresh, my tank would just sit there unable to move - so these days I try to join a different battle and keep my fingers crossed....

monty, which browser are you using.

For me for some reason when my battle freezes I found in chrome i can hit refresh and go back to battle without losing my place, but refresh in opera brings me back to menu screen and I lose my place in battle.

this is a rediculous joke.

Played today for about 2 hours and refreshed at least 15 times???

Just left last battle as i have given up, what is most frustrating is I would be winning a lot more crystals if i could stay in 1 single battle long enough.

eg, played for 20mins in TDM battle scheduled for 1hour, had 17 kills, leader has 20, after 3 refreshes gave up.

Have lost track of how many times this happens and how many crystals I must be owed as a result of tardy connections.

Hi dfferent, that's interesting about your experience with chrome. For a long time (and certainly when I had most problems) I was using chrome. I did try Opera, but not for long because it was doing something strange although I can't remember what ! Something I used to get a lot with chrome was the flash plug-in crashing - I ended up disabling it and running an older flash version separately.

Out of all the browsers I've tried, none have let me get back into the game with my points still in place. Maybe it had something to do with running Vista maybe ? Now I'm running Windows 7, so I will have to see if there is any difference. For me, the smoothest browser with least freezing and lag has been Maxthon so far.

I've lost out on big crystal payouts quite a few times with freezing gameplay, so I know exactly how you feel - and what makes it worse is when you have used supplies to help get in a good position.... and it's all a total waste.

I got this message last night when I was close to winning. I was absolutely gutted - there had been no warning or lag, I was kicked out. It was just like someone or something wanted to ruin my day.

Thing is, Tanki has problems but it's free to play and we can (usually) take part in some exciting battles. I have never bought anything at all, so I can't really complain too much, and I have to be philosophical about the bugs that do crop up.

Here's what I mean about taking things as they come - after making the post above, I joined a battle with 9 minutes remaining. I had been in the game about 2 minutes when a Gold box appeared so I put on the nitrous and got it :)

So, I missed out on the crystals last night, but got lucky today !

Had this problem many times. I have found that running the Maxthon browser (portable version) did help - and also the grahics are much smoother compared to Chrome.

I ran a broadband speed check and found that my upload speed was very poor - I reset the router, which did help. I then contacted my provider who told me that my upload speed was being capped ! They agreed to remove the cap, and my upload speed has now doubled - but I still get some lag on the bigger maps with more players.

I also got an improvement in down / up speed by manually changing the router channel to avoid interference from other WiFi in my area.

This is pretty extreme, but I get best performance running Tanki with my laptop in safe mode. No sound of course... but it's worth it for the reduction in lag.

Maxthon? hmm never heard of it what kinda browser is that?

There is a portable version available on CNET I think. The advantage is that nothing is written to the computer's registry. When you open it, the browser runs from the downloaded folder (you have to double click the BIN file to get to it). If you find it doesn't work for you, all you do is delete the folder and everything has gone.

I now use the latest version of Maxthon called Maxthon Cloud. The reason is that it has the latest updates etc, and it seems to be just as fast as the portable version. It is definitely superior to Chrome for playing flash games - I have noticed this on Vista and Windows 7.
