I think you can introduce another special named ring of fire ( or ice) which can be purchased for about 15 crystals. That will make a ring around the flag for 1 minute or so and if an enemy touch it , will loose 50-100 hp/second.

I have even better idea. I call it ring of death, which can be purchased just for 1 crystals. Only downside is that only YOU cant use it. When enemy buy-s it, you tank explode immediately.
