All of you probably already heard many times about the "new server platform," which for several months translating "Tanks Online". Now this process is close to finish. It should be expected that the updated "Tanks Online" can be seen in the next few days. A team of 12 programmers will rewrite the code "Tanks Online" from scratch, correcting many of the errors of the architecture of the old game.

Its what that topic says it is. They are taking the game that you play now, and putting it on a new platform (new servers). It will make the game much better, by hopefully solving the lag issue, and making it so more people can be on a server at a time, and this will make it easier for updates to be implemented. I think they tested the new server platform in Test Server a few times recently. It was muuuuuch faster than the regular servers.

Also, when they put in the new platform, according to this it will be much easier to add things like, user profiles, battle search lists, battle parameters (only certain guns/hulls), and even......a friends list.
