Computer viruses are bad thing,of course.

 

Some of Computer virus types are:

 

Malware:

 

Virus.Slows your pc down and can end it.Like,good old creeper virus.(oldest)

 

Worm.It can destroy your pc and also spams through email systems(in most common case,MS Outlook).Ex.CIH.

 

 

 

Concealment:

 

Trojan(commonly called trojan horse)Can destroy your pc like virus.

 

Rootkit:Stealthy tipe of Malware.ex.zeroaccess rootkit

 

Backdoor: Trojan,that,if you get it,gets control over your computer.ex.Beast

 

Zombie computer:Similar as Worm,but infects due spamware.Ex. Skype virus.

 

 

MFP(malware for profit):

 

Adware:viruses trough ADs.

 

Spyware:Secretly gathers info from PC.

 

Botnet:Virus that breaks security and spreads.

 

Scareware:Software that is made to scare users.

 

Rogue:fake AV,that installs virus into your pc and it cleans it,detects virus,and asks to pay money for cleaning.Original money-earning method.

 

Ransomware:Same as rogue.

About root/jailbreaking

 

about jailbreaking i dont know much.

 

Risks of rooting:

 

You can froze your phone forever(both to android and ios smartphones)

 

You can break the warranty(there are phones designed for root allowance)

 

Trojans(yes,trojans are the ones which roots your android smartphone)

 

Pros:

 

You can access whole phone

 

You can use GameCIH

 

and do cool things like game hacking using their files.
