After the re-balance battle funds are bigger at lower ranks. I was playing on my master corporal account CTF and the battle fund was in the 30s, but before the re-balance it would have been 4-6. I even managed to catch a gold box.

I'd say now its easier than ever to earn crystals. When I started, there was no such thing as a gold box and earning crystals for me was a difficult thing( especially cuz I havent ever bought anything or won any contests). Now, It's a lot easier to earn crystals and get points, since you can get all the guns at a relatively low rank such as isida.

I've never bought, and I can survive in battles... you don't have to buy to enjoy.

And I like saving up for something... it feels like I deserve the bought item, I'm almost sure I won't have that feeling when I buy the required crystals.

From my observation nowadays, players tend to play a drugging game and used up all their drugs just to win a game, to be in 1st place

regardless of how much crystals they get for winning. What happens is these guys will rank up fast due to the xp points gained. But the sad

thing is they don't have enough crystals to upgrade guns / hulls / paints. I have seen many high ranks with the free holiday(chequered

black/white) or even the basic green paint on m2 hulls and guns. The Buyers are something else.. MOST rank buyers are 'something else'

and ALL Rank Buyers are the impatient-kind of people.

Believe me Shotgung, it is okay to earn small amounts of crystal per game as long as you don't get the Glory of winning and at at the same

time losing the crystals due to the drugs used.Of course getting both is much sweeter!! But to get both at the same time you will have to

I'm doing just that on another account. Just got promoted to WO1. I have wasp m0, titan. hornet, smoky m0, railgun and twins and have bought nothing with real world money. Problem is, My hulls and weapons always seem to be one rank behind. :huh:

 

But you have a choice: Do you use your hard earned crystals on enhancements ("drugs") or save your crystals for upgrades. You can't do both and enhancements will eat up your savings in a hurry. So, consequently, I'll dive for as many crystals as I can, even if it means dying a horrid death. :(
