So I like rail a lot, I really do, and I really want to become good at using it and eventually upgrade to m3.

But I'm losing hope for that now... Whenever I use rail, I barely scratch even with my k/d (with very occasional good runs like 20-0 or something like that but very rare and when there aren't a lot of enemy shafts/rails). I can only stand up to other tanks when I have cover to pop out, shoot, and come back but when there isn't, I get shafted, thundered, you name it. Freeze+firebird dominate me and thunder beats me even in long range duels USING cover cause he can hurt me when I take cover.

I do really well with my isida and am considering upgrading that instead of my rail... please convince me to do otherwise!

Si, rail and twins are the most easy to use.

Railgun is not the most easy to use. It requires skill! I think you should stick with railgun, because isida just isn't any fun. Plus if you play TDM rail takes away a lot of life and you can get lots of points even if you don't kill. :D

From your rank, u r still a beginner. so, kip sticking to rail, thn as u rank up u`l bcum really good at it. Bliv me, rail is a really fun and great weapon....its my fav. So, my only advise are:

- Get use to moving ur tank in any direction i.e forward and backward

- Turn ur turrets (this m pretty sure u have gotten use to by now)

- Get use to the zoom in/out keypads

- Most importantly....Time ur shots..railgun is mostly about getting to know the timings of the shots...

Goodluck...and do stick to rail. Hop we`l meet in the battle :tank:

Railgun is my favorite weapon. Offcourse it requiers skill to use! In my opinion, even more than most other guns!

But that can be debated offcourse and it depends on HOW you play with a gun. Do you sit hidden in the far distance and snipe with the railgun? Or are you close in the heat of the battle with it? Then you definelty need skill to survive. My best tip for becoming good with Railgun is to have pretty good mobility with the tank.

Basicly, choose a target and fire a shot. Dont fire randomly unless you just want to help the team and damage enemys so they can finish them off. Before you shoot the fire shot, make sure you have a place to retreat into. The hard thing with Railgun is to survive the long re-load time (most tanks need 2 shots to die). You need some speed to get away and be on top of the enemy so you can trick him. Use the E and Q buttons to change the camera angle for the best view.

For example, if you're being hunted by an enemy on the other side of a small house, angle the camera at maximum so you see everything from above. Now you can easily avoid him when you re-load and flank him perfectly with the second shot. With the Railgun you need to be careful unless you have alot of supoorting tanks around you.

Always think about what you will do after you fired your shot. Thunder, and especially Twins dont have to think about this. They are always dangerous becouse of the short reload, but after you fired, the enemys will charge at you. So use the environment, but take risks which can pay off alot :) And dont be afraid to be close to the action. Just not attack to many at once and always make sure you can see them even when they may not see you, so you stay ahead of them and flank them!

Also check out where your team is, as Railgun can sometimes need support. Also, KILLSTEAL (aka "Kill-securing"). You can one shot most tanks with some damage on them already. Thats why a Raingun is very effective when you have team-freinds near you.

Hope this helped. The Railgun is NOT a "noobish" gun... no turret is, but if I would have to say one its definelty Twins. Rail is one of the most complex turrets, in terms of tactics, and you have to be very careful with it to be truly effective.

THE best advise for rail gunners!!

And as for me I use my m3 with a hornet m3. On big maps the main rivals are the smokeys.. beware!

Most Railgun users are noobs.

Isn't it because you get killed a lot by them??Why do you think TO even bothered to make the 'Mosquito Battles'before the RB??

Its one of the best 'annoying guns' ever!!

This is what you do if you're a railgun user (Past experience that made me pretty popular in the english community)

It depends on the maps you play, I expect you play Silence, sandbox, Monte Carlo and a couple others. I'm going to talk about Monte Carlo, Sandbox and Silence.

Silence:

If you're in Silence and you are in the blue team with Railgun and you don't know where you should go, then you better guard the front behind the big pipe, when there is no shooting then lay some mines down but cautiously. When enemy tanks come back up back the ramp and get what cover you can and fire. If you use isida in Silence then just guard the back and heal a teammate, to make it even better defense, have a friendly freeze stay with you. Also lay down mines when you can.

Monte Carlo:

Monte Carlo has the exact same sides, if you use rail in this then you would stay near the flag. Lay mines at the ramp where you can jump and get the flag, and lay it on the ramp coming up to the ramp, spread them out, it might not do to much damage to kill them at once most likely, but it will do enough for you to one shot or flip them during their escape. When someone jumps and tries to get your flag, camp at the base of it and shoot their tank while they're in the air, if not the you have your mines for back up. If you use isida in Monte Carlo, then just do the same but also heal surrounding team mates.

Sandbox:

Sandbox is a complex little map, it has a number of points of which an enemy can come in and kill or take your flag. If you use rail then you would want to plant mines around the flag, and some on the ramp if you can. Get to a corner of the box, and use the 'Birds eye view' to help see around corners. When you're on the side with the house, then you would want to go there and hide, plant mines there, enemies seem to like that for picking off others and going for the swoop.

Now to talk about those pesky little twins, isida and thunder tankers.

Twins:

When you're faced to a twins, you want to make sure you know your tank and area, you never want to suddenly turn and run into a wall. You want to know their plan before they move. Make sure you use mines on any ramp or area you think they might come by. And if one charges at you then back up, and lay a mine.

Thunder:

When you're faced with thunder then you want to aim for its weak points, which is the the edges of the tank. This throws them off balance and it will take them a couple of seconds to get aim again, note their splash damage, so know your surroundings. When you shoot the edges of the tank you might have enough time to go back in to what hiding spot you have.

Isida:

This is a hard one, the best thing you can do in plant a mine of where you think it well drive. Also shoot the edges of its tank and try to run and go far enough away so it can't get to you.

*Addition, Shaft:

Shaft is a very annoying gun. When you shoot the enemy using shaft, get back into cover. They will most likely take their time to charge, but if you wait and go and check the other parts of your area to make sure it's safe, go back and see if the shaft is pointing in a different direction enough for you to shoot at it and get back in your hiding spot, or to kill it. When you're going one on one with a shaft lay some mines and hit its edges.

These are what I used and use and they benefit me a lot. I hope these help.

Don't make me laugh. I think it is the hardest gun to use, that's why I like it the most, it's a challenge.

Shaft has become like a railgun before the rebalance.

Pathetic damage, slow and supper annoying for enemies, They get damaged; thus they wasted health... all for nothing.

The shaft didn't got his kill.

But now...

The railgun's damage has greatly increased.

since everyone is using those dumb hornets you can eradicate them with one shot, no double power is needed.

A rail M3 can take a mammoth M2 down in 2 shots if I'm not mistaking.

Railgun is finally buffed, I hoped this for a long time, because I was sick of the idiots who only damaged you, and then left you on the battlefield... ready to get killed by someone else.

I'm going to upgrade it for sure...

Best way to use a railgun is, if you study the maps you'll find efficient camping spots.. It really just requires practise and a bit of intelligence :)

Ya rail gun is require very good skills.

i am also a rail gun lover. but i have seen that Only Wasp is the hull that is best with the rail gun.

There is a plenty of reasons for taking Wasp.

For a good and better use of rail gun. you must take command on keys Z, X and C. other wise after fired rail gun it will take too much time to taking cover and you can easily shafted or thunder. so wasp is good choice. i saw before rablance and after reblance many good and skilled player used rail gun and wasp combo. and they were/are they king of the game.

2nd try to avoid isida and specially freeze in a battle. so instead of move forward go backward. the you can kill them easily. so wasp is faster then any hull i have seen. even wasp can beat hornet.

3rd never play closed map. i-e Comb, ping-pong these are not for those gun who take time to reload after fire. i-e rail gun. (it is my opinion. you may be good with these.)
