A second password?

I still hear that some people get hacked I was just wondering if this idea would help? Like when you purchase something on a apple account, you have to type in your password everytime.

Say if you want to buy new equipment or talk in chat, you'd have a different password that you'd need to enter before doing so that means:

1. Any hackers would have to find a second password and they probably wouldn't be able to get it

2. Any friends who hijack your account would find difficulty as well.

 

Hacking is probably very uncommon but im guessing that this might help

Hack does not exist. The problem is that the passwords are not long, not difficult and not changed frequently, or even worse - they are disclosed to sharers or scammers. So before thinking about a second password, everyone should learn how to take care of his first.

I agree that everyone should be more protective of their first, but maybe the second one is rather a backup, insurance rather if the first one does ever falter

I think people forgots pass when often change it (like me), then you need to sent e-mail what dont come all time and at the ends write to help.

It could work.

It was a dumb move from the developers, showing your e-mail on your account...

 

People should't be able to change passwords directly from the account, but from a link in the e-mail.

So hackers should also fill in the password for the e-mail, this can be considered as a second password.

 

But still, hackers should not know your e-mail... I don't get it why it's visible directly on your account

Yes this is kin of what I'm talking about, what happens if they break through your password, you'll have no defenses and worse even, they'll change your password and your account is now theirs

Although two passwords would be extremely secure on your behalf, it would be better if most users simply kept the first password to themselves..

 

On the topic of visible e-mail, it is visible on my account, but I do not fear, for my password is long and I do not give it away to scam artists and tricksters :lol:

That is the only instance you should fear; people who hack into your account without knowing your password, is impossible, because there's a system in place to prevent constant guessing.
