Rebalance discussion

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel that the rebalance has effected new players in that it is much more difficult to rank up and buy new weapon upgrades. I originally joined before the rebalance, and it was easy to climb the early ranks and gain xp because tier 1 upgrades were a dime a dozen. Of course once you get into the higher ranks, it generally gets more difficult, but that's to be expected. My point though, is that I relied only on my skill to get crystals and thus gun and hull upgrades. I never bought any crystals. Probably half if not the majority of tanki players do the same. When the rebalance came along, the new players had the choice either to spend real money and buy crystals, or to not and fester at the bottom of the totem pole, so to speak. I really liked how, before the rebalance, the tier 1 weapon and hull upgrades were so cheap, becuase then a new player was able to get them relatively fast, and with better weapons and hulls, they were able to accumulate experience faster and advance in the game. Now, however, the cheapest upgrade is 710, and the others 5 and 10 times more than that. It is virtually impossible for new players to get them without buying crystals or having to stay with the same m0 equiptment for a LONG time before accumulating enough money to buy an upgrade. I know this because I made an alternative account to test being a new player in the rebalance aftermath.

I'm not saying that Tanki is a bad game. It's great! And it's great that it's free. But I really think the rebalance did a lot of harm to those new players who would rather not spend real money to buy crystals. I really wish the prices on the tier 1 upgrades would be brought down so that new players can advance in the game faster, and have more fun! I'm not saying it shouldn't be a challenge to get upgrades, but it shouldn't be an insurmountable challenge. The cheaper the upgrades, the funner the game will be, and the funner the game, the more people will join.

Dude, though I do agree with much of what you have said, do not forget Tanki is not providing this game for free. They have an interest in you buying crystals..etc. In that respect, I wish they would get into advertising or something to help cover cost vice the way they are doing it. The current way is to price the higher weapons out of reach unless you buy them.
