The Silence of the Isida

Tankmen,

As you may know, the Isida gun is a silent killer; it does not emit much sound as it attacks others.

This is contrary to the other weapons, such as Thunder, which make plenty of noise in their attack of enemies.

At first, I believed this to be a glitch in my sound system, but then I knew others could not hear the Isida very well, so it is then a game feature.

But why?

The quiet nature of Isida is a grievance to the unwary Shaft users and other players who are focused on other enemies.

You may call the Isida, the "ambush predator" and leave it at this, no harm.

However, there may be a benefit to adding the louder sound effect to the Isida's attack.

And the sound does not have to be extremely loud and annoying, simply a sound enough for players to acknowledge the Isida's presence.

What do you think?

To give more sound to the Isida?

Is it fair or unfair, and to whom?

I have also posted this to the Feedback, I am waiting for it to clear the moderation first :)

It makes noise, very faint, but noise. A good shaft can detect it, as can anyone else.

Is that so?

In all of my days playing Tanki, I have not heard of it; maybe I have a bad hearing

But if it does exist, then the topic of the post changes, from the matter of the Isida having no sound to being too quiet for most user to hear normally.

So!

It appears, after a test, that the Isida can be heard, but if the volume is to a painfully-loud amplification. :(

What should be done is that the sound of the Isida itself should be increased by a few factors, to make it more easily distinguishable in the heat of battle, when there are other much louder noises around.

it makes a waon,waon,waon noise.

To me it sounds like an alien landing craft :D

I would like it to have a louder sound then. I have never heard one but I do not have good hearing. :) :)

But I can hear all the other action in the battles.

For once, I agree. All weapons should have a sound. Freeze is IMMENSELY loud!

To me, Freeze is also a bit quieter than other guns, but maybe this has to do with the fact that its sound is very high frequency and harder to discern for some people..

I digress though the Freeze is loud enough, at least bring the Isida up to this level of amplification.

I usually play with the sound off, so i dont really care, but when i do activate the sound i notice that isida is much quieter than other guns but i can still hear it. I would agree to increase the volume if there werent many isida users, but unfortunately there are, and it would become annoying.

I use isida and disagree

If isida has a loud sound it means we isidas will get killed frequently and we use fast weak hulls like wasp

95% of the time we can be seen.

I got the same , but what does it matters? if youre a shaft and you cant watch you back then lay down mines or something. They arent invisible.

Fact is that shaft users are so concentrated at aiming for an enemy, they won't notice the health bar silently running low.

My suggestion, even though if I'm not a shaft; keep an eye on the health bar...

But try to find a better spot next time, the isida shouldn't get to you in the first place.

Take a corner of the battle, so no one can sneak up to you from behind, and you can focus on what happens infront of you.

In this way, many Shaft players don't really know how to use the gun. Most stand in clear view of the enemy team, and never turn to meet an incoming Freeze/Firebird/Isida (many can't be bothered turning their turrets, and just wait to die in such a situation). I have fun pwning them on my Isida account... :D
