I'm starting a series where each month, I ask different members of the English community a question about an aspect of Tanki. This month, to start off, the question is: 'What is the best combination for a Polygon DM and why?'

@joostcool
Well, I find Mammoth very important, because it is a medium map where 16 players can play. You need the HP and the speed isn't that important. The weapon... Uhm... I think I choose Freeze. As I said it is a medium map where you will self-damage with Thunder. Shaft was awesome before rebalance, now it isn't anymore. That's Why I choose for Freeze. It is very useful in such maps with buildings in the place. Because I find Freeze the best other people will do also, so freeze-protection won't be bad. So, Mammoth/Freeze/Inferno is in my opinion best there.

@FederalBureauFBI
Twins, Mammy and Picasso because Twins is a mid-range gun, ideal for medium maps like Polygon, Mammy - because its the strongest tank, you can go somewhere, park your tank and start killing, without being killed too much - and Picasso - it gives a decent protection from some of the most used guns...

@chadster
Polygon is a wide, open ranged map, a combat zone where any weapon can be used for good purpose. Small tanks can fit in small areas, and can benefit with a good strong weapon. The problem with using a small tank, specifically wasp, is that it is easily damageable, and prone for easy kills. Usually, the most common tank used beyond all rank varieties is mammoth. It is able to withstand damage from many weapons for a lengthy period of time. Weapons used for this tank are usually twins, thunder, or ricochet. Twins does great damage, prevents tanks from getting up close, but lacks depth reception. Thunder is a good mid rank weapon, allowing tankers to camp and destroy the enemy. The only down part is when your up close using thunder, you might kill yourself when attacking the enemy. Ricochet, does extensive damage, bounces off walls, ramps, the ground, and still does good damage. Its range for shots is extended, making it easy for a mid through far range weapon. Mammoth and ricochet is a great combination for polygon, and any good paint will do you well with the combination at polygon. Thus, in my opinion, the best combo for polygon is mammoth/ricochet.

@splitterpoint
Uhhm, good question, I would say twins, it has been made very powerfull after the rebalance. I think it's perfect for polygons due to it's massive firepower at short range, twins has unlimited ammo; so you can just hold space and shoot. Twins can still reach further than firebird and freeze... polygon is a small map; but not that small.

The best hull to fit twins on, at this map would probably be titan in my opinion. Polygon is small, but you still have to change position sometimes, if you want the enemy in reach of your plasma balls. Titan is fast enough to get your enemy in reach, and due to its decent HP, Titan can deal with several enemies at once, which is really usefull in polygon.

@vilmos98
For a hull, Mammoth is the definetly the best choice. That is because the it is strong, which is a vital thing in Death Matches. Also, isn't the fastest tank, but because you don't need to run with the flag, or defend your points, making sure you reach them before the enemy. Nope, the only thing that is important is to defend yourself. Choosing the hull is the easy part. But choosing a weapon is may be a bit difficult, because it really depends on your style of play, and what you are skilled at. Although every weapon has its own beauty, I've got to say, I found using Firebird to most useful, since even if you get destroyed, the afterburn makes it almost sure for you, that you still get the kill. This way, you don't only earn many points, but you can make sure that you stay on the top, and earn many crystals at the end of the battle.

@shadybig
Rico + mammoth is a good combo because no one protects against rico anymore. A high powered rico with drugs can wipe out everyone on the battle field and easily earn you first. Rico + viking is good also becuase you get both the speed, health and strength unlike mammoth where you get the health but not the speed. Mammoth + freeze is also good because you can slow down your enemies and have enough life left. Vik + freeze also because of speed and strength. Smoky + any tank becasue the tanks are good and smoky is strong. Firebird + tank because it goes good with all tanks and it firebird is a good weapon kills even after your dead. So, overall, I'd choose Rico + mammoth.

For me it has to be picasso, titan and smoky. Picasso because it gives you protection from 4 different weapons. Titan because it of its armor and decent mobility. Mammoth would be too slow to collect drops and crystals. Smoky because of high shot/min rate, critical shot, good range and no self damage. also you can make thunders and rails miss their target.

I dont really play poly much but I'd have to say it would be twins, hunter and emerald mostly because twins can do both good close and long range at the same damage rate but you can more easily avoid a freeze or isida with twins than you can guns like thunder. Hunter because its agile, fast and has reasonable hp.

In my opinion thunder and viking is the best combo. Thunder is a very good gun for taking out one enemy, and two, Thunder has an effect where you can aslo kill yourself if needed (as in you are low on health and don't want to let an enemy kill you). In polygon, there are great places to hide for camping, and it is a map with an open place for easy shooting. Viking has strength to withstand a lot of damage, and the speed to get away from freezes or firebirds. So overall, Thunder and Viking is one of ( if not the) best combos in Polygon DM.

And what about me? Well, I haven't actually played a Polygon DM since the rebalance, athough I played my fair share before, using Viking and Freeze/Thunder. Post rebalance, I guess the choice for me would be between Smoky and Twins and Mammoth and Titan. Twins has high DPS, decent range and unlimited ammo, and Smoky's critical hit would come in useful. As Smoky has a long range, a slow tank is fine, and health is more important in a DM, especially in a map like Polygon. Overall, I think I would choose Twins and Mammoth, as in a straight fight, Mammoth beats Titan.
