Where did it go?

I have a question that I have been wondering ever since the graphics update. What ever happened to this: http://alternativapl...en/demos/crash/ and these: http://tankionline.c...re-and-after-5/ http://tankionline.c...re-and-after-2/ <-- That was going to be amazing. That was going to be what Tanki is today. Compare it to current Tanki. Anything similar? Maybe a couple little things here and there, but not nearly the same thing. I made this topic to say I am disappointed in this game and you will not see me as much as you had several months ago. Sorry bout your game. I agree. The first time I played those demos, I was like "These graphics are amazing!" The current graphics are cartoony. I don't like them.

I am glad that those graphics weren't implemented. Although they may look cool, they just don't fit with tanki.

In fact, the graphics were one of the main reasons why the project "2.0" was cancelled, the developers did not want to focus too much on the intense graphics or the original charm of the game would be lost.

In other words, the realism would kill the game.

And so, the current new graphics you see today were born.

I guess I can see how that would have made it to realistic than what tanki is known for. Do you or anyone else know if any if the other features are going to be added to the game? After the graphics and rebalance, there was to be more, but I don't ever recall there being a new economy in the next tanki. I knew there was going to be a second currency however...

This is very true. That was one thing I was wondering about a long time ago when they were making the demos like that. There was still a lot more planned in 2.0 that has still not arrived however that I am still wondering about.

As we said thousands of times, 2.0 was cancelled.

Yes, most of the things planned for 2.0 will be added to 1.0. But not all of them.

 

As you can see from here, there is going to be another graphics update, which will bring many more special effects and such. But still, the graphics won't be the same as the ones from 2.0 - why? Because many of the players have crappy computers and won't be able to play on such high graphics. That's one of the reasons why 2.0 got cancelled. Maybe, after some years, when more people get modern computers, such graphics will come. But at the moment people aren't ready for them,

Do you have any info on what will end up going in from the planned 2.0 and what will not be implemented?

Edit: Btw, thanks for the link to the graphics topic. I had only heard rumors of that and was thinking it was not true.

I translated most of the things here, but hopefully an updated English 'In Development' page will come soon, so all can get informed.

-Chat, available through a button from any part of the game

-Seperating Garage and Shop

-Garage - tank 'configurator', with ability to buy drugs

-Shop - place for buying stuff with ability to try it and choose it according to specs
