Nerfed Rico? This may be why!

To those who used to love ricochet pre-rebalance, and noticed how nerfed it now is against the other weapons, maybe this will explain why. I was taking a look at the 'supposed' statistics for the weapon in the garage and in particular the shots per second. The 'claimed' shots per second didn't seem to ring true to me so I though the only way to know is to test it.

I have it currently at M2 which is supposed to have a Shots per minute rate of 109.1 (or thereabouts).

I tested it for real against the clock using 2 methods and here are the results.

Method 1: rapid fire/recharge/rapid fire - result = 50 shots per minute.

Method 2: fire on constant hold (no recharge) = 52 shots per minute.

Conclusion.... either they just make up the statistics that are supposed to educate us in the supposed 'balance' between different weapons or, they did intend to make it fire at the advertised rate. Let's be honest...... If it did fire at 109.1 shots per minute it would be more in balance and a lot of former rico owners would once again have their weapon of pride (and much fun) back.

Dev's ..... either give us the advertised stats for the weapons we choose or get your 'facts' (ahem...rofl) correct.

I don't have rico so i can't test it, but probably they did the math based on one single full charge shooting constantly, that could explain the discrepancy with your numbers.

Their stats are correct, they just don't include recharge time in their numbers (109.1 for m2). To get the number they did, you have to time how long it takes for the rico to deplete one cartridge, while counting the number of shots in that elapsed time. Then, divide 60 seconds by the number of seconds it took to empty the cartridge, and finally multiply the shots fired by that number, and there you have it.

i want the old ricochet back, that was a great gun, now it is a piece of rusted metal.

if the rico has the old stats now, it is equal with the other guns

Before the rebalance the max HP was 200. (Mammoth M3) now it is 380 (Mammoth M3) That is shooting almost tweice what you would shoot before rebalance.

Scribo, I truly admire your logic, however what you are suggesting is impossible. As you said, the formula would give you the listed statistics, but is recharge time included in the formula? I don't think it is there, and therefore what you are saying is not strictly true. I think, off the top of my head, the time it takes to use up all of your yellow bar should be added to the recharge (FULL) in seconds and then multiplied to make 60 seconds. My knowledge is limited, I don't know if the time it takes to use up your yellow bar is the same as recharge. You just CAN'T shoot when your bar is empty.

Rico deserves to be underpowered... it was the most powerfull and extremely annoying gun before the rebalance.

This is KARMA.

I used to be afraid to go to Polygon, because everyone would team up with their M3 Ricochets and completely destroy me!

Now......well I am still afraid, because those same people are using Twins now, which is even worse!

Yes, twins is overpowered at close range.

But since I see them much less than I used to see ricochets, I don't really care much.

But They use twins so much at the higher ranks, that's why I don't want to rank.

At generalissimo rank, DM are infested of twins, almost on every map. With drugs twins are completely OP. In my opinion we don't see more twins because they are too expensive and after rebalance nobody knew how good they are.

^ Yes indeed, I only have m1 twins currently - however though twins are very good. It is just that everyone considers them to be rather useless which is very incorrect.
