In the second article of this series, I'm asking: 'What is your favourite map and why?' Let's find out what the English Community thinks:

@datie9
My favourite map is 'zone'. There are a few things which make this map to the 'perfect' map in my opinion. Zone is one of the most balanced maps of Tanki, there is just a tiny little difference between the two sides. This also is my favourite map because it's the first map where my clan played a clanwar, we made that game to a draw by the way. The map also has nice buildings and decoration and not for forget: Cool spots for parkour!

@Shar0n
Edinburgh, as I like the strategies you can make there, it has a top floor which makes it really interesting and the whole map just looks really good and fun to play in.

My favourite map has to be Sandbox. Why? Small but popular, and despite the seemingly calm and peaceful name, Sandbox provides such a vast range of gameplay and strategy, varying from intense CTF drug-wars to vivid DMs. For me personally, I always reminisce about Sandbox being the first map I ever played on, driving around and shooting as I pleased. Found numerously in every server - regardless of rank, Sandbox is the home of all weapons (but Shaft) and hulls. What I love most about Sandbox is what can happen in a matter of seconds. Yes, the length between the two flags is quite short, but the journey between them is a feat in itself – what can take place is completely beyond you. In the space of a minute, a Thunder could completely knock you off course; a Freeze could slow you down; the gold could even fall… The possibilities are endless due to the size and layout of the map.

My favourite map would be Sandbox, especially NS, since only tactics, skills and teamwork matters here. The base of both sides are same so its fair.

That's a good question. I'd have to say my favorite map is Kungur, although I also like Iran and Silence, I find Kungur is a bit more interesting when playing long CTF and TDM matches. The first few times I played it I loved it, I would just camp behind the houses on the red team's side and quickly get loads of kills while making the red team very angry. I find that Railgun and Shaft do seem to have a slight advantage in this map. If you’re a Shaft, there are many places to camp in the bushes and gain kills very quickly. If you’re a Railgun, you can easily gain points by staying in one spot and taking shots at tanks who come out in the open, or on the bridge. So, in short I think this map has an awesome layout, some great places to hide and some pretty cool designs. I hope it will stay around for a while longer.

My favorite map in tanki is canyon. It was a map I played alot in my earlier days. I like the way that you can parkour to sniping spots, or ambush with short range weapon. It is also one of the maps were i got my most goldboxes. It brings back many good memories of the old days :)

@Raphael2
Well.. One of the reason why I love Tanki Online, is the great variety of maps. I don't have a favorite map, but a little group of them stand out of the others. The last one I played, is Iran. This is a great map, because it is the only one which got Persians props (buildings, ground, trees,..), it has an balanced and interesting gameplay (4 ways from a base to the ennemy's base: right, left, middle, tunnel). And all guns suits this map : closed ranged, middle-ranged weapons and long-ranged weapons can make a good score here. As I am an Isida and Smoky user, This map give me a lot of fun.

I have a few big favourite maps but all and all even though I don't see many battles going on in this map is "Barda" it is a somewhat small but cool underrated map, both sides for CTF are nice and even, the layout of low ground and high ground, and I find that this map takes some skills to capture the flag, got to get used to it before you conquer it

@BarbaFenner89
My favourite map in Silence 1. I choose it since it's just amazing to see in how many ways you can take the flag and then run away! You can play it tons of times, but you will always find a new way to take and cap enemy flag. Spawn points are well-placed, supplies and crystals fall in good places and there are really nice camping spots. The only bad side is the fact that long, long battles become really boring since the map is little, but for battles that last around 1-2 hours, Silence 1 suits :)

@Ranger7
Though I enjoy tons of maps, I have a special liking for Noise. It is very unique, andthough it is small, I really love it. What I like most about it, however, must be the unique CTF experience. With the flags being virtually on top of each other, I love trying to get past the enemy team, either jumping off walls or rushing up ramps with the flag.

@GoldRock
Over a year ago, I would have said Massacre, but the change in the positions of the flags (and the fact that another change meant that only Third Lieutenants and above could play it!) ruined it for me. In fact, the rank requirements for my favourite map, Combe, had also been changed to Third Lieutenant, so I had to suffer for quite a long time playing in the countless Silence CTFs until the rank requirements were altered once more. Anyway, as I said, Combe is currently my favourite map. Unlike more popular maps like Silence, it can be played in both CTF and TDM modes with the gameplay remaining interesting. And unusually for such a small map, Shafts and Railguns can dominate battles as much as any short range weapon (especially Railguns, since they’re so awesome). In fact, all weapons can dominate in Combe if used with skill. Basically, as it’s an all-rounded map, and since it’s not annoyingly big (I like nice scenery, but I prefer all-out action rather than getting lost all the time), it’s my favourite out of the lot. I’m glad to see that Combe has made a comeback recently, and hope it’s here to stay.

@MizARee
My favorite map is Silence. On this map you can use any weapon you want as there are good spots for both the long range and short range weapons. Doesn't matter if you are on the red team or the blue team. CTF is what I always play and getting the flag on either side take a different action all together. If on blue you really need to work getting it up the short or long ramp to where your team is waiting. On the red side, getting to the top is your struggle, but once there you again head towards the short or long ramp where some teammates shoudl be waint to help. Just makes the game more interesting to play on each side to notice the difference.

And me? I've played a battle in pretty much every single map in Tanki. Some of the maps I have enjoyed most are Berlin, Combe, Crash, Fort Knox 2 (Now known as just Fort Knox) Hill, Pass, duels in Sandal, and Subway. One of the most enjoyable experiences was playing in Crash in the test server, when it was just grey. Using Hornet/Thunder and constantly drugging, and shooting anything that moved was a lot of fun, especially as I was at the lower ranks and hadn't experienced this before. But the one I have the fondest memories of, and enjoyed the most, especially at lower ranks is Fort Knox 2. I have fought many battles there, and thoroughly enjoy the map.
