Ranking is not fun anymore!

Ranking up used to be something I'm excited about, especially at the rank of WO4 when I first touched the once all-powerful shaft.

 

Now it's quite the opposite, it's frustrating to see your buyer opponents equipped with something you've unlocked but are unable to afford just because your rank grows much faster than your wallet does. At first, ranking up seemed pretty exciting and fun. But as your rank grows the game feels more and more like test server where you cannot survive without drugging and m3 sets. It sad to see a game which I can retreat to has become a place where I have to retreat from.(fortunately, there's a game indicated in my name called Minecraft for me to spend my pastime on)

 

Yesterday I fought in a 30 minutes battle, our team won and I'm on the top of the chart. Guess what I got? 300 pathetic crystals which is nothing compared to the inflated prices. Ranking up is not fun as it used to be, I really want to rank up to major and stay there. I just don't understand why some players used their crystals to buy XP, maybe it should have been the other way around where you could buy crystals with XP. But since that is not even possible, here's some measures I have taken to balance XP and my earnings:

 

1. I tried not to waste my time on getting flags and killing enemies unless absolutely necessary, instead I focused on picking up crystal boxes and camping at where gold boxes drop, even though I haven't even seen a single one of them since update 123.

2. I stopped playing in battles on a daily basis unless for my clan, most of the time I just collect my daily bonus and leave. This helped me to pile up crystals and drugs, which you'll need on a rainy day. Sometime I buy drugs to make sure I have one of each in case of emergency.

3. I tend to play with high ranked players now, which are harder to kill thus gives you less XP but it gives you opportunities to run around and pickup boxes which they do not care much.(unless it's a gold box, of course)

 

Hope these tactics have helped you in some ways

 

My advice to you is to not be eager about ranking up since there's no way of going back. Also do not buy XP with crystals , it a move which you'll regret.

Ranking is fun, it's just that after you rank there is nothing else to do except continue as you were before, unless you buy a tank/hull/upgrade

If you are referring to the 123 update, I have got to stop you right there. Before the rebalance you had the exact same situation. the buyers had a tier 2 M3 set at WO5, while the non-buyers could only afford that 5 or 6 ranks higher. So in this case, pretty much nothing changed: the buyers had the best equipment and still have it.

At least now ranking up after Lieutenant still has a purpose: to unlock M3 and new paints.

Very true...ranking is no fun at all now. Before 123 update, i use to play a lot in much higher rank battles, not jst to gain xp bt also experience by playing wit strong & skiiled players. Still i cud atleast earn some decent crystals back then. Now, there is no more motivation to play wit them, wit dis type of really MISER & FRUGAL battle funds. Cos, i`l never be able to ever upgrade at all. Now, I limit most of my battle to my rank or at most 1 rank above me. Even then its very hard to earn some decent crystals.

set a goal, just 100 kills per day is enough, you roughly earn 500 crystal from that kills, that is enough at current tanki economy,

dont push too hard, otherwise no fun.

Dont look at the crystal count, look at experience gain, you will feel better,

 

also, never play with higher ranks, or at least 2 rank above you, you can't kill higher ranks as they have better hull protection.

Lol. Im TRYING to rank up quicker (im not a buyer) cause i want emerald. Even thou i dont hav enough for it now, i will by the time i rank up twice more. Its not that hard earning money by coming 1st in battle (cuz i got mammy) but i guess for hornet users or wasps they can only hope mainly for the crys or gold drops. Well anyway, i dont needa worry bout the prices cuz im sure i can get my m3 rico and emerald by the time i hav ranked to that level :) cheers

I agree, although I do want to get a new rank. Not for upgrading purposes, as after the new update I decided to focus on one combination, as it's rather expensive for any more, therefore it is only necessary to rank up to a rank where it is possible to buy an upgrade. But, you are indeed correct.
