Let me tell you a story. You are happily sniping noobs on Highland with a shaft/mammoth combo. You get hit by a shaft and need to retreat. Just before you are completely hidden, a railgun clips the front edge of your chassis and you die. In real life can you kill a tank by pounding the very front edge into oblivion? OF COURSE NOT!!!!! Why should Tanki be any different?

I propose a collision model that can be hitt but won't register damage in addition to a damage model. See my photo below for further explanation. If you have any questions, feel free to reply.

**Thunder blast damage can still get you even if it doesn't hit the damage model. Same with firebird & freeze. NOT true for railgun.**

This sketch is a rough sketch of a viking/thunder combo done quickly with Paint.

Tanki is not real life, nor a tank simulator. That's why it should be different.

I don't know what to say about the idea...I like it a bit

For those of you that are on the fence, this is a rough concept. I do not plan on developing the sketch model any further unless popular demand demands otherwise. I can absolutely rework it so M0-M3 are represented.

Tanki is a game, not real life.

It would troll the the railers so bad.

This is the idea. Railguns can get kills with the slightest graze. Now those guns would become harder to use and require more skill.

Tanki claims to operate on a realistic physics engine. Without a system like this, they are shooting their claim or realism to hell. Tanki may not be real life or a simulator but they do say it is meant to be semi-realistic.

I guess I like the idea but It just seems a bit too difficult to implement, also maybe if you clip the front, it only does a certain amount of damage or it varies from where you hit the tank?

In my opinion just seems a bit over complicated but I do like it. :)

I like this idea, but it would further weaken the Railgun, as many users rely on fast attacks that clip the edge of the enemy tank.

Smoky also relies on this tactic, it would not be fast enough to shoot the hitbox and then have to shoot the damage box; by then the Smoky user would have already sustained damage.

But those are just trivial situations, overall this is a good and well thought out concept, it should be passed on to the developers. ^_^

I think your idea is a more complicated version if this. My model says it either does damage or it doesnt. I can create a more progressive model but that would become more difficult to implement.

I think the fact that an M1 railgun can one-shot several different M1 and M0 chassis makes it too strong. Its this or nerf the railgun IMO. I think the situations you present are valid and tactically good but a situation I see a lot and want to remedy is a tank under cover but that didnt hide the very edge of it. Shaft and railgun users exploit this tiny spot to get cheap kills.

i am a rail user my self i enjoy the idea but i think that because this would probally have the worse effect on railers(like me) and smokey users maybe the rail should have a faster reload time or more damage to make up for loss i mean im just saying because without that rail would become useless to most people as the front of a tank clip is how i get most kills and it actually does take alot of skill with rail to learn how to clip the front of a tank before it hides and the slow reload time already hinders railgun and makes up for its damage i mean sure its a great idea and all but you would basically have to entirely change 2 guns and all the hulls and tanki just went through a major change in gameplay like 3 months ago so even though this idea has potential it probally won't get implemented but its a nice idea anyway and could use some polishing but other than that good job
