I will reveal a thing guys... Between the runners up, there was a paint that was far more liked by the developers than the winner. But it was googled so it didn't win :lol:

This is just... I'm really upset about this, I spend about 7 hours to make my entry good and now I don't even got 10k for the hard work? :( I worked really hard to make it better, I changed and changed things, and after that I changed things again to make it better and better and now I see some which won 10k while it's so clear they just googled something, added it into TankViewer and posted it without even looking at it... :(

Contests like these should have a criteria to which judges vote, made obvious in the guidelines: for example;

1. Presentation - ?/10

2. Originality - ?/10

3. Relevance. - ?/10

its obvious the winner was chosen based on his/hers presentation. congratz to winners anyway.

It's a matter of taste. Let's face it - in a competition like this it all depends on which paints appeal to the judges' tastes, no more, no less. The judges made their decision based upon their own tastes - a tournament like this will always be a lottery.

I was unaware that googling a texture was against the contest rules. I guess it was supposed to have been obvious... :(

One thing - do we have to create the texture ourselves or can it be "discovered" off the interwebz?

You can do both things, but if you make it don't use a hand-drawn paint.

Why not say that you can not use pictures from google? You ruined the whole contest! :angry:
