It is probably overkill. You are right, it should just be a long ban (at least a week). I have never done any of these and never will. I hope you don't either. I would also have to say that the vast majority of these actions are never punished anyway. If you want them to stop, the penalty must be severe to dissuade people not to do it because the risk they would get caught is so low.

Banned forever? I don't think it's that serious if someone is harming his team; that he should be banned permanently. People may change. Sure maybe a Day or so may help, but not forever...

Friendly fire = sabotague!!! But I rarely see this. Team members only kill each other usually when an enemy is close, other ways they don't, because what's the point? You don't get points for killing your allies now do you? So if you see someone killing on purpose, just report them! Some other players might get annoyed with it too, and the player will be kicked ;)

Thank god team kick is coming soon, i've just tried it on test srever i know it's gonna take the players a month to get used of it :P

I love friendly fire! I need it to survive. In all the games I have played, people use friendly fire wisely. You know those jerks who sit behind you on purpose so that when you need to, you can't back up. The idiots who ram into your tank and try to knock you off a bridge or something. I need friendly fire or I would be very angry all the time. Those people who use friendly fire for the fun of it, they know I'm going to get revenge, so they rarely do it. Agreed. There are the smart, Isidas, and there are the not so smart ones. :/ When I try to fire, then get back behind a wall, some Isida pushes me out, and the Thunder kills us both. Lol. And, you can kill the ones that just get in the way, like the ones who don't kill, but just wait for boxes to drop.

The downside: When a teammate gets the flag, there's going to be war because the people on the same team are going to be fighting for the flag. Then the enemy swoops in and returns it. Other times, your teammates try to flip you. A shaft with Hornet flipped me once( ON MY TEAM) because he wanted the flag. I was like 3 meters away from our home flag. -.- Difficult battle too. So I refused to let go, and just went AFK. LOL. They had no choice but to push me off and auto-return enemy flag. :P
