This is another article in the series all the reporters are doing on their favourite aspects of Tanki, although I do have to admit this isn't my favourite thing about it, my favourite things have been written about by my fellow reporters.

So, variation in weapons. We have 9 weapons and 7 hulls to choose from, not to mention a large selection of paints, varying in appearance and protection offered against different weapons.

Weapons

The variety in weapons we have is really nice, we don't just have a single type of weapon, the basic point and shoot and the guns are different by the reload times and damage done per shot. Instead, we have lots of types of weapons; short range weapons damaging anything in a certain area, close range weapons that target one tank, guns that fire lots of small damaging bullets, lasers, snipers and the weapons most like ones in real life, the point and shoot. This leads being able to have all sorts of tactics with different combos of these types of weapons! Then we have the special features of each weapon, which makes it unique. It changes the gameplay, it means its not just damaging in different ways, you can be frozen, burnt, damaged without seeing the attacker, or damaged with a tank between you and the attacker. This features also mean some guns are better than others at different roles, such at Freeze is much better at defending in the base than a Thunder, not only due to the range and type of weapon, but the fact Freeze slows down enemy tanks, whereas with Thunder would just damage yourself. People can also develop different playing styles with the differences in weapons, some can camp, perhaps sniping with Shaft, or covering the middle of the map with Thunder. Some weapons, such as Twins can lend themselves to many different roles, even ones that at opposites, attacking and defending. So we have a large choice when it comes to arguably the most important aspect of our tank, the weapon.

Hulls

The hulls are slightly different to the weapons in that they don't have any special abilities, and are different mainly in 2 variables, speed and heath. In general, the fast tanks have less health, and the slow tanks have more health. The exception to this is Viking and Dictator, with Dictator having more of both, however, M3 Dictator is unlocked 5 ranks higher and it is more expensive. It can also be argued that it's shape is worse, the gun sits higher up and it is larger. The centre of gravity is also higher, meaning that it is easier to flip over. In general, the slower, stronger tanks are also bigger in physical size and weight, and the fast tanks are small and light. This means the strong tanks are hard to flip, whereas the fast tanks can sometimes flip just by going round a corner. The gun positions on the tanks can also be different, being at the front, back or in the middle. Usually this doesn't make much of a difference in the gameplay, but if you are concerned with the appearance of your tank this can be something to consider.

Paints

There is a large choice of paints for all prices ranges, from free to over 270,000 crystals. The main point of paints are protection and looks. For some, its all about the protection, some the looks ,and I think for most people a combination of the two. They are a great way to show off your tank and wealth. Most of the paints also have protection from different weapons, and there are so many combos of protection you can pretty much have what you want. As there are so many combos of protection, there is usually 2 to 4 paints with similar protections, but at different prices and unlocked at different ranks so that the whole spectrum of players can have that combo. For looks, a lot of the paints are camouflage style, with different colours or camouflage, black, white, blue, red, lots of shades of green, brown, , purple, beige, grey, it's a long list!
There are plain colours without any protection, and many other styles, including animal skins. The choice is massive!
