I have recently noticed a trend on forum.Players are just trying to achieve figures by commenting rubbish and creating stupid topics. There are some good guys who post very relevant and interesting material but most are useless. So i think hiding the number of posts will discourage players(some) to publish garbage.

I agree with you too. I used to post a lot just to build up my post count, but I try not to anymore.

I don't think FederalBureauFBI would be happy though. ;)

I agree with you, though the post count says a lot about the forum member.

I don't think it will be removed.

I said that there are some good guys, maybe the mods should give them special badge rather than showing the number of posts.

I agree completely, but...

I really haven't given it much thought till now, but have noticed a competitive build-up lately...The number of posts one has, shouldn't be what the forum is all about. "I Agree."

Actually I really don't care that I have the most posts. It's about quality, not quantity.

As for the idea, people that post rubbish usually get banned.

Another point, removing post count won't stop them.

But some people spam with the sole aim of increasing their post count, though you would be correct in some cases (e.g. cheap_plastic_flower will never stop posting rubbish  ).

Almost every forum has the count of posts.

Quite a few forums have ways in which 'points' can be earned, or posts can be 'liked', if comments made are constructive and helpful. Something like that could be an adequate replacement...

It's not about how many posts you have, but more so about how meaningful and helpful each of them was. Would you want someone filling the forum with pointless stuff, or, rather have them post helpful comments instead?
