Happy Easter!

I'm sorry. Jesus was not just a "very good man." He is the Son of the Living God, and he was not murdered, he was sacrificed willingly for our sins. At Easter, we celebrate His Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension.

My concise statement was intended to be for all people. Not just "we" as you have so esoterically put it. May I remind you that Jesus did not separate people against one another in order to convey his teachings as you have done so in your besmirch of me, by segregating a brief portion of my statement, which originally contained 4 very's. It is all too quite easy to make another person look bad, in order to push ones perspective. After all, who wants to be seen as the lesser human. I could have gone into great detail about Easter, but chose not to. After all, this is a game forum. Not one for evangelism...Just another reminder. Here's one of my favorite quotes of Jesus. "Though their faith be strong, they truly are believers" That means all people.....When you can accept every type of person, no matter who they are, or what they've done. Then you may understand what the intention of my statement was...If you wish to cast stones at me again for responding to your post in this manner, feel free to do so. There has been enough suffering in the world already because of those who think they have the right to make everyone think and do as they do. The real Jesus was about bringing people together. It is my belief that your post goes against that...."Happy Easter"

^ My friend. I think someone has misled you as to how muslims feel about Jesus. Here is a reading from the Quran: (Remember) when the angels said, "O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous." She said, "My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?" He said, "So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only 'Be!' and it is." (Quran 3:45-47) - Happy Easter to Everyone -

Look monkeyburn, the fact is, you aren't a Christian, and as such you haven't the foggiest who Jesus is and what he became Incarnate for. You are in no way doing justice to our Lord and Savior by saying that he's a very good man (it doesn't matter how many verys). If you read the Bible, Jesus said, in Matthew 10:35, "For I have come to turn a man against his Father, and a daughter against her mother." What he was saying here was that people would separate from their family and friends to follow him. I'm pretty revolted by your statement that the "real Jesus was about bringing people together." NO. Those are the words of an unbeliever who doesn't want to be a complete atheist, yet still cannot acknowledge Jesus. You are obviously selecting certain words of His that most benefit you and your worldview, while leaving out those you don't like so much. Jesus came to SAVE SINNERS. You are a sinner. I'm a sinner. He took upon himself the burden of God's wrath against the whole human race, which no other man or creature could do. He died so that we might die with him to our sins, and live a new and godly life. Jesus said, "No one comes to the Father except through me." Unless you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, there's nothing you can say, nothing you can do, that will suffice.

As to your statement that what you said was for "all people," well, what I just said was for "all people" too. I'm not trying to fit in, I'm not trying to coexist. I'm trying to fulfill the mandate that Christ gave in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." This forum is as good a place for evangelism as anywhere else.

btw--you should watch the movie "The Passion." Even though it cannot come close to portraying all the suffering of Christ, it gives a glimpse of what it was like.

Only Christians have permission to post here. (-.-)

...you aren't a Christian, and as such you haven't the foggiest who Jesus is...

I'd love it if some people were a little less defensive. It's not only Christians who respect Jesus as a holy figure - most modern day religions acknowledge him different ways. Muslims see him as a prophet, Christians as the son of God, whereas Jews reject the claims he was a messiah, and simply think he was a preacher. None of these views are disrespectful; we should respect these views, and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus rather than having a religious squabble. Happy Easter, anyway :)

(EDIT) Some points:

- I agree with many of monkeyburn's points.

- Scribo, I accept your points and respect them, but we don't all have to agree with them (including other Christians) - that is what makes humanity so diverse.

- armenia1313, being perfectly honest here, but your post was a little ignorant. I respect your argument, though, as I would respect anyone's point of view.

GoldRock, I know that it's not only Christians who respect Jesus. Many people respect Him. It's the people who accept His love and love Him in return, who receive the Holy Spirit and are cleansed; those are the ones that are saved. The human race is diverse, yes, but God didn't create it just for the purpose of diversity. He created us so that we would love and serve Him. We sinned, however, and broke the covenant with Him. I'm not trying to have an argument, but I won't remain silent when God's name is being blasphemed.

"And the burden of the Lord shall be mentioned no more, for every man's word shall be his burden: for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God."

You know the Bible so well...Look it up!

In conclusion. I take it that you have not had much "Life experience yet". So I will not insult you. A word of advise. It is good to read the Bible, or any Holy script/text for that matter. However, true faith comes by doing. Then you may have a more sound understanding as to what is meant by "I have come to turn a man against his Father and a daughter against her Mother." - You used me as a disapproving conduit to evangelize.

"Jesus did not separate people against one another in order to convey his teachings." - He made a point to prepare people for a disagreement that would cause separation, as if I were to say to you. "I want you to know that if you go against what your people have taught you, they may turn against you."

Easter is a time of rejoicing, not of argument. I'm sorry, I guess I got carried away. I would enjoy discussing this with you more, if you like, maybe by PM. Happy Easter, everyone. The Lord is Risen!

I fully understand what you're saying, and respect your belief and the way in which you shared it with me :) You certainly have some valid points there - I myself cannot be sure about religious matters, maybe when I'm older I will be able to come to a decision as to whether to open my eyes to God, or to reject the theory altogether. Thanks for sharing that with me, I value what you have said, and I strangely find that I don't disagree with it! Once again, happy Easter :D

monkeyburn, I agree with you on many of your points, but I think it would be a good time to end this religious debate rather than to continue arguing. Happy Easter :)

(EDIT) I got ninja-posted about 5 times whilst writing this!

Perhaps I was too presumptuous in saying that. I'm sorry if I offended you. I am arrogant sometimes, but I strive to get rid of that sin.
