shaft is a fun gun, but its noob

Not necessarily...In the hands of a skilled marksman/woman, not only can the Shaft be an extremely effective weapon, but an indispensable component to any team.

You heardem. Aim for the Railgun when you can! LOL! By the way, Shaft is supposed to be ranged. I've already seen enough people charge into the front lines with them and firing them like a Smokey. Stay in the way back, and snipe. Hold Spacebar. As the bar decreases, your shot increases in power. However, beware of the fact that as you charge, your scope gets slower. :( And if you want to REALLY help your team, kill Isidas. It'll stop them from backing up their teammates, AKA your enemy, and healing them. One Isida can go a long way, such as helping an enemy stay alive long enough to cap your flag. But true, aim for Rail in case they shoot you down. Otherwise, protect your team by eliminating Freezes and Isidas. By the way, if you're using Mammoth and you missed your enemy, but you know they're coming up. A clever way is to use that Mammoth to cover up your flag. But beware that some enemies are clever and can either jump over you carrying the flag with them, or just brush against the side of you, taking the flag. And if they're drugging, don't be afraid to drug back with 2X Armor.

But now about the scope, the gist is to hold spacebar. As you get more experienced with it, you'll know how much to charge in order to kill certain kinds of tanks (Be aware of Modifications!).

Shaft is a good kill stealer by the way. Sure you'll annoy teammates, but if you're an opportunist, then you'll enjoy this tactic immensely! Don't always go in scope mode. Sometimes you should use your camera to review your hunting area. It's easier then to locate single, or groups of enemies. And when someone has your flag, do not go after them unless nobody else is. If your team is chasing after him/her, you should stay put and use that SCOPE!

How to use Scope: Hold down spacebar. You can move your scope up and down or left and right while in scope mode with your arrow keys. Higher charge, means shorter yellow bar. Shorter yellow bar = More damage. However, the longer you charge, the more slow you can move your scope. Not a good idea to keep revolving your turret after you've reached maximum charge. No enemies? release it and overlook the area with your camera.

1) Find Target

2) Scope (Spacebare)

3) Keep scoping (Charge)

4) FIRE! Or at the last second before they're about to escape from your view.

P.S.: Sorry, I've never used Shaft+Wasp or Hornet. I've went up against them though. They're pretty easy to kill, considering that you don't have to charge the full 120, or if you do, 1-shot kill. Remember not to get unbalanced by Smokey or Twins!

Press space and hold it. The longer you hold it, the move power it can release against enemy. Let go when you're ready to shoot. Shaft also can move up and don't not only left and right when in sniper mode and you control it with the controls you control your hull, which means, that in the meantime, while you snipe, you won't be able to move your hull. Hope that helps.

Nice way, to make people not to use shaft, split but you'll have to do better than that...

Finally, someone has offered our original poster a useful answer. Maybe it should be made clearer to players in-game how to use it (I wouldn't know how players would be told, for Shaft is the only weapon I have never bought. I might buy it someday on my second account just to be able to stand in front of some enemy Railguns and let them take turns to shoot me whilst I scope towards a nearby wall).

Was that a better way than split's? :D
