Update 138 — Deep Shadows

New effect: deep shadows

 

A new visual effect has appeared in the game today: deep shadows. It adds volume to the picture, underlining the unevenness of the relief, corners between walls and any surface drops.

The screenshots show very well how the deep shadows transform the picture.

Deep shadows are created using the SSAO method. This algorithm uses quite a lot of resources, so it may significantly reflect on game performance on weaker PCs.

The effect can be switched on in "Options". It only works if hardware acceleration is also switched on.

the only thing a cant wait is the optimyzing tank, now that is cool, the surprising thing is that you dont know when it is updated, maybe tomorrow or next month, but we dont know when, thats why it is a surpirse

I don't like it - I cant see much difference and yesterday I went to PC World and played tanki on an Intel Core i7 with 16 gb of ram, but with deep shadows, it still lags

As for the lags, for me sometimes it lags but it's probably going to be fixed in a few days.

I remember when the Dynamic shadows came, during the first days I was getting 20 - 30 FPS and it was lagging, now it's 50 - 60 and no lags at all.

Just wait.

hi tanki devs, the minute upgrades to the graphics are really nice, im just wondering will all these 'graphic' conclude to a 'tanki ver 2' look?

ive played the demo for tanki 2 and the graphics are awesome. will these minor upgrades reach that stage (ofcourse itll be optional) ?
