jumping off the edges

Hello,

if fight an enemy and (s)he jumps off the map edge, does this give me (or my team in team battles) any points?

I saw many players prefer jumping off and dieing over getting killed in the battle.

I understand this is not easy to avoid, so I hope this does not give jumping people any advantage (e.g. I/we get less points)

You do not get kills for people who jump over the edge. It is their choice to do so - it is used as a tactic so the enemy does not get the kill.

If people jump of edges, they self destruct.

And self destruct doesn't give any points, it's the same with thunder when they shoot you in the face and die.

I always do that, and it works. You can just jump off the edge, and then my enemy goes home with a red face.

By using standard self-destruct, people have some seconds to kill me and gain the points. After jumping off the edge there's no such possibility.

That's why I consider this kind of cheating... I lower someone's shield to 1% and (s)he jumps off...

Do the opposing sides get points for person who self-destructed?

If not, I will propose implementing that (distributing points to people who have hurt that person, or to all).
