A pivot stick figure animated (and tanki related) scene

Recommended Posts

Some of you know I've been working with pivot lately.

I have the program for 2 weeks now, and it is really fun to make those cartoon videos.

I've said that it will take some time to get the video done.

However, you can already see a test video listed here.

There's going to be more over time... I still need to learn how to use pivot correctly.

It's a time consuming job, as you have to make Frame by frame, and have to build anything yourself.

This one minute test video probably took me around 10 days.

I hope you understand the meaning, it's not that hard to understand though. ^_^

This is basically what is happening in the video:

-Viking/Smoky combination Drives in Frame.

-Viking/Smoky sees stick figure.

-Stick figure tries different guns for attacking the Viking/Smoky.

-Stick Figure manages to damage Viking/Smoky.

-Viking/Smoky shoots Stick Figure.

-Mammoth/Rail kills Viking/Smoky from behind

-Random Bird lands on Mammoth/Rail.

-Poops on it.

-Ending scene.

For entertainment purposes only.

Haha, nice idea! And not bad for a test video, Pivot is pretty time-consuming as you said. Good job! ^_^

Thanks!, I'm still improving; Frames are a bit lazy... will do more Frames next time.

That'll take even more time though.

I really like your cartoon tanks. :P They actually look real.

Thank you ^_^ I used tankviewer for the tanks, so the skeleton is +- succesfully made.

Even though most of the line details in the video are not correct compared to the real ones.

If it is realy first video t is very good keep your work on

Thanks sir, it's actually not my first video.

I've been using Pivot for 10 days or so,

First video was much worse.

I could try making one of these... Just imagine me struggling 20 minutes to make 20 frames

Trust me, it's not worth it; it can be pretty annoying, and takes ages. You're better off just playing Tanki instead :D

I've tried making mini-movies with frames before, but with worse programs. Pivot looks user-friendly :P

It's more user-friendly than other programs, but it's still not that easy to use. Only take it up if you have some time on your hands :P

Pivot is not that hard if you have 1 or 2 objects in your frame that move, or 'live'

But it will get harder once you put 4 objects in the frame, as you have to anticipate and produce every move they make.

At the same time, you'll need to do the effects such as smoke, or flames in this case.

And the most underestimated part about pivot is that it becomes extremely hard to move your fingers to build or move objects.

You need to grab dots, and they're not always visible... making you click/search for several minutes, just to find that dot so you can move the object.

And one of the stupid things about the version I use, is that I cannot delete frames, I can only delete the last one.

One wrong move in a frame, and the video is busted up for sure.

You need to do this when you have nothing else to do... it's just impossible if you have something else on your mind.

And requires so darn much patience.

But hey, you can flow your fantasy in there; and will keep you busy in the boring hours.

Wow..That was good. Really creative...Thanks for the laugh...You must have lots of patience. Sounds like the old days, with frame by frame animated film.

Anytime sir,

Actually; I don't really have much patience... I can't stand working in this program for more than 10 minutes per day.

It will consume you, and mess with your mind.
