More descriptive death sentences

I prefer that, simple yet effective and people obviously know how player 2 got 'destroyed'

But wouldn't:

Player1 Destroyed (Burned) Player2.

please both sides? They please:

1. The people who prefer the word Destroy to be still inside the phrase.

2. The people who want a more detailed description.

Because, some people (ME) think that detailed descriptions will flood the screen and are annoying.

Uh, by that logic, you'd think how it is currently would flood the screen as well.

It's replacing one word. Nothing like that is gonna happen.

i like the idea but if too many words are added then the screen may get blocked. But actually depends on the length of the words. So mayb its better to put the letter of the turret that destroyed a player... for example "Player1 destroyed (Fr) Player2" and the Fr means freeze. Just F for firebird and etc

Then you've got issues if you get annoyed if 'destroyed' were to be changed to e.g 'burnt' 'shocked'

It makes things easier for us and it still doesn't flood the screen.

You don't like the idea because of your own problems, it seems

True. . . it's actually quite easy to know what you got destroyed by.

You can't tell if the people are behind a wall, this enables you to know what happened on the other side of the map. If you think chat would work, people rarely chat, only 2 or 3 people chat in a game of 20 people. I think having { Descriptive Deaths [on/off] } in the options menu would be nice if some people here wouldn't like to have extra information.

Then just go behind the wall. Lool.

-ahem- Ok back to being normal. (But the definition of Normal can vary. . .and is quite interesting)

Anyways, I'm pretty sure in any match you're bound to find out the enemy's equipment sooner or later, and besides each gun has it's own animations. The Railgun is a narrow beam of light, shaft is the orange flare, Thunder is the cloudy blast, Smoky is the small blast, Freeze is a vacuum, Firebird is fire, Isida is an electrical current, Ricochet is a plasma ball, Twins are a couple of rapid balls, and so forth- not to mention the Hulls are quite distinct.

A not bad idea at all ;)

Perhaps some of them could be similar to this:

Player X incinerated Player Y

Player X chilled Player Y to the bone

Player X sniped Player Y

Player X blew away Player Y

Player X pierced Player Y

Player X smoked Player Y

Player X smelted Player Y

Player X splashed Player Y

And some others to interchange with the original Player X destroyed Player Y:

Player X annihilated Player Y

Player X blew Player Y to bits

Player X crushed Player Y

Player X left no trace of Player Y

Player X cracked Player Y into pieces

Player X showed Player Y the door

Player X stole the kill of Player Z

Player X smashed Player Y

Player X stopped Player Y in their tracks

Player X wrecked Player Y

Player X ruined Player Y
