When are twins obsolete?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I'm working on upgrading the dictator, to eventually use a dictator/isida since I don't plan to buy crystals to account for the prices of the newer stuff. Currently, my weapon is M3 twins, so I wanted to know at what rank or time do they become completely useless. I'm working on upgrading the dictator first, but I'm trying to figure out if I should M3 it, then work on the isida, or M2 it, and then start on the isida.

So how long are twins good for, and when do you have to ditch them for a new weapon?

IMHO Dictator M2 is useless compared to M3 - it lacks speed very much wich is very helpful if playing CTF as a caper. So using Dictator M3 + Twins isn't a bad idea after all. I personally use Firebird (wich is also the first generation weapon) on Third Lieutenant and it still rocks. Don't think that Twins is anything worse :)

From my experience playing with high-levels (like Majors and up) is difficult mostly because many of them have M3 tanks and many of them - M3 weapons + expensive paints.

As soon as you can buy rikochet, twins are gone. m0 riko can beat m3 twins any day.

I am an M3 Dict and M3 Isida user. I, too, do not plan on paying for crystal; therefore, next generation weapons are unlikely for me, given their high prices to upgrade. An M3 Twins will have a place in this game for quite a while to come. Nice power and continuous firing (no reload time).

You dont say what your current tank is, but i would recommend getting the M3 Isida as soon as possible. The points (and, therefore, the crystals) you will earn being in first place in large/long CTF will add up fast, and let you upgrade the Dict to M3 quickly. With the slower tank initially, you will not rush to capture too many flags, but you will more than make up for it in keeping your teammates alive...thats how you points (crystals) rack up so quickly.

+1

Firebird is good before rank of Third Lieutenant, but Twins is better, especially on Sandbox. After Second or First Lieutenant Twins become obsolete. Maybe it's better to buy Railgun M3 or Isida, but not Dictator M3? Using a strong weapon it's much easier to work on Dictator M3, as I think..

P.S. As about me, I was using Dictator M2 and Firebird M3 before Third Lieutenant (and I already had a Railgun M1). Then on Third Lieutenant I upgraded Dictator to M3 (but I wish I had bought the Railgun M3 first). Then I bought Twins M3 and managed to work on Railgun M3 using Twins on Sandbox (my rank was Second Lieutenant at that moment).

Ricochet will be rebalanced soon, and it's expensive. If your rank is lower than Second Lieutenant, buy Twins M3 - it won't be obsolete.

Right. I'm a Sergeant Major, a few thousand out from WO1, and I'm using M1 dictator.

Oh wow, so twins are more useful than I thought they were. xD In that case, I could reasonably upgrade either one, but to me it seems like isida would be the better option. Having 70 health could become an issue at times, but the isida's healing capabilities should be able to account for that to some extent.

I won't reach second lieutenant for a while, so this looks good. Thanks everyone.

well unless you upgrade isida, 60 damage on one tank is just not enough to reliably kill anyone, except wasps. then you need to wait 5 seconds for your "nanobots" to reload....your stuck vulnerable ): isidas good for points, but IMO its not a good offensive weapon. just sayin

Well...it's not like I would use M0 isida. That would, indeed, be pretty bad. Since twins don't lose their use as fast as I thought they did, I could use them until I can upgrade my isida.

One other thing - when should I start using the isida? M1 or M2?

im thinking m1 is ok, if you can get to m2 its better. depends on when you upgrade. if your rank is really high and still only have m1, then stick with twins until you get m2

so look at your rank and keep it in mind

haha REALLY REALLY HIGH!!!!

yeah m1s pretty good. if your playing with the big boys you don't want to be using m1 things when they're all using m3s, stick with m3 twins if everyone else is using m3 gear

Twins almost never becomes obsolete' date=' as long as you have a high-health tank.[/quote']

Lol, I did not know that. Now that's making me think I should upgrade the dictator first. But I'll stick with upgrading the isida, then dictator.
