Members having the ability to lock their own threads on the forum

I AM going to post this on Feedback so don't even think of linking me there; I just want some opinions on it first.

The ability to lock our own threads would be good because it saves mods' hassle; for example, if a person were to ask a question and it were answered, they could immediately lock it themselves. And we will no longer have to beg mods to close topics. Even clan leaders will be able to use this nicely. Also, I don't see how it could be abused; although people may make threads then lock the threads straight away, you wouldn't have the ability to unlock which would mean the thread would just die out into the first few pages. And if flooding were to be a problem, the mods can always make a rule stating this isn't allowed. In terms of maturity, we already have the reputation thing which can be abused a lot more than this can soooooooo......yah.

The most wonderful idea I have heard in a while, please share it with the Feedback site so that way Semyon can see it for himself and determine what to do with it :)

I think it should be implemented, it is great especially for clan leaders.

I discussed it with other community managers.

The idea is nice. However, there are some tings that aren't good about it.

For example, when someone opens a topic and discussion starts in it, not off-topic one, people just develop the topic, share ideas.

If a person who started it decides to close it what happens next? These guys open another topic where they continue discussion.

As a result we have many small topics with similar ideas.

So it is unlekely to happen. If anything changes, I'll tell you guys.

But if the person closes the thread for no reason, the people discussing can continue in PMs like some chat mods say or they can even ask a mod to RE-OPEN the thread and they can use their discretion when deciding that. Replicas of threads are bound to be made and made again, especially with things like micro-upgrades, new turrets and hulls, the new friends system and general Tanki stuff. Though I see your concern and acknowledge as to why you've mentioned it, I do still feel you should give it a test-out to see how things go, like with the reputation thingy.

And to the dude/dudette who wanted a link to this idea on the Feedback site, I will provide it when I get home; I'll edit this post.

I don't think people would go to the PM's and ask for a re-open to the moderators.

They will most likely make a new thread, especially the newer people.

Just because it's easier, and takes less time.

Semyon Kirov Agreed on your point.

But,

If the person who opened thread & locked without any consent of others then, there could be voting system OR Sticky for requests to open Closed Thread Section.

Voting which was implemented on forum few days back... It can be used here....
