Previously...

June something, 2013 (the calendar is far away and I am too lazy to check it)

Edward here. Sorry I haven't written anything in a while. I fear I may have to stop this journal soon. I made myself a promise to quit Tanki forever (Yes yes, I know it's dumb to have a journal all about Tanki if you don't even play) and the only thing that keeps me from setting my pen aside is the thought of what Miss Reynolds will say at the beginning of the school year if I bring her a half started journal. I really don't see how I will be able to keep my journal going if I don't add in some un-Tanki related stuff, but that would ruin the point of this being an all-Tanki journal. Nothing else to say except that this may be my last entry, and if it is--Sorry Miss Reynolds.

June 10th, 2013

Hello. I guess I'm still writing, but seriously, who knows how long this will last... Anyway, last night, I had this really strange dream about Tanki, but I won't go into it. (If I did, I'd probably freak Miss Reynolds out. Hahaha) Anyway, since I quit, it's been hard to think about anything except Tanki. Tanki all day. When I finally do manage to get my mind on other things, somebody inevitably says something like 'wasp' or 'thunder'-- and my mind goes right back to where I started! With all that, and then this dream, it almost seems as if Tanki (Yes yes, I know it's crazy to talk about Tanki as if it's a person) is desperately trying to keep me in its clutches--like it doesn't want me quit. Tanki almost feels like a magnet--whenever I start to use my computer I, (without thinking it seems) start navigating to the Tanki web page, then I'm like: 'Oh yeah, I quit!' and I quickly exit it. Quitting Tanki is turning out to be a lot harder than I expected, but I'm sure I'll be able to.

June 11th, 2013

Hi. You know how I vowed to quit Tanki forever? Well, I kind of broke my promise yesterday. Please let me explain everything first before you start calling me a hypocrite, oath-breaker or other mean things like that, OK? Notice that I said 'kind of' broke my promise. I didn't really... Anyways, I had the great idea to look on the forum (That's not technically breaking my promise is it?) and write down the players' reaction to Update 159. It's not like I'm playing Tanki; this is only the forum, and it's for my journal--that's how I justified it. Genius, eh? I think so. After looking through a lot (there were way too many to read them all) of the comments it seemed as if most of them share the same point of view--dislike and hate (This update was *sarcastic voice here* definitely by "popular demand" as the devs said, hahaha!). I did manage to find a couple of people who liked the change though.
Here are a few of the hater comments:

"Tanki olnine how could you do this?!?! (Miss Reynolds, please note: this is their grammer and spelling, not mine--I payed attenshun in class) 'By the popular demand' you saying? People may hate druggers, but all drug from the time to time! Why cannot make no-supplies battles free! That would have been much the better and solve the same problem! This game is now a much more boring! Drugs gave fun. I am very dissapoointed in you devs."

"I hate Tanki and I quit all forverer!!!!   "

"I just don't understand. Why? Why Tanki? Give me a better reason!! This update is pointless! Take it back!"

"I used to think that all the developers cared about was money, and the only reason they made new updates was to make more money, but now I know the truth: They are just plain dumb. Well done developers. Well done for losing half your players." (I agree with this guy)

There were waaay less, but here are a few of the support comments (Actually, these were the only positive ones that I could find):

"Finally! After months of playing against druggers, it's over! Thank you Tanki! I look forward to some fair gameplay! Maybe I'll finally be able to catch a gold box or capture a flag!"

"LOL (In case you didn't know Miss Reynolds, LOL is short for Laugh out Loud) this is an awesome! I wish I could see all the drug buyers' faces! Thank you the devs!"
Hidden among the many hateful messages, I discovered a few funny ones too:

"So we must always pay the 500 cry to enter battles now?"

"Drugs is bad for the environment! Be glad that they're gone. I have been negotiating with Tanki a long time, and I am absolutely sure that I am the reason for the removal of supplies!" (This was written by a person called RainE.Day lol. Certainly a fitting name!)

So those were a few of the more reader friendly comments (Yes, there were many things written there that I would never dare to think about, let alone write in this journal!) and as you can see, most of them weren't very friendly.

OH. MY. WORD! Guess what happened! You'll never believe it! It's crazy! (I didn't believe it myself at first!) This discovery only proves my point even further that something is weird about this update--I'm sure there's more to it than meets the eye. Here's what happened. Yesterday I was sitting on my bed being bored (after having played Tanki, nothing seems interesting; try it Miss Reynolds, you'll see!) until I finally just couldn't resist it--the temptation was just too great. My computer was right there on the desk beckoning to me so I walked over and broke my vow, something which had been inevitable from the very beginning anyway, if you know what I mean. When I turned on Tanki (with no small amount of guilt) I went straight to battle and that's when it happened! I was just... OH SNAP! My mom's calling me! gtg... I'll finish later! Sorry!
