Why made smoky so overpowered?

For me, it's strange. When I had m0 smoky, I kept getting criticals all the time while the % was 5. Now, that I have upgraded to m1, I rarely get crits. Why is this?

That's just unlucky - probably having a bad day.

Smoky has a bug.

 

For those that can´t understand the video. Look that smoky just starts its attacks, then we see critical  and then tank destroyed. Check my HP

 

How is possible it happen everytime ??

 

Cause:  chance critical is higher than 8%

Who plays tanki online  knows that  we have a problem with critical of smoky

                                                  For developers:

First : fix % chance critical. It is not only 8%

Second: Look another thing that is happening:

[Put initial real percentage is 8% ]

 

If in a box , you have 12 balls (11 white color and 1 red color)

White ball (normal shot of smoky ) and  red ball (critical shot of smoky)

 

The chance that you have of taking the red ball  is  8.33%  (100 / 12 ).

But when you get a white ball, your chance of be sucessfull is increased to 9.09% (100 /11 )

33.3% (100 / 3)

 

Everytime that you shot with smoky, you have more chance of make a critical hit.

When the right thing should be 8%.  All process should restart with 12 balls.

If it is what the developers did to be. Then ,add  it in description.

Anyway  the initial percentage is more high.

We know it.

Just play a bit  and pay attention.

some battles you have almost never a critical hit and some battles you have a lot.

one battle is not enough to prove.

Are you sure about that? Because that sounds exaggerated to me...

He's wrong about 6 critical hits in a row being that common; as in my experience, it is rare. But today I had fantastic time with smokey m2, in one of a battle, I had 5 critical hits in a row! Also, with my smokey, critical hits was frequent today compared over the past few days.

Are you sure about that? Because that sounds exaggerated to me...

it is very exagerated equal to science fiction  :) not even with double power there is no chance in hell for those numbers but hey lets leave cablei dreaming those thousand crits per second

Yep, good idea :lol:

 

CABLEI, don't say your video is evidence that crits are too common because it's not... You've just edited out the parts without crits. Proper evidence would be an unedited length of footage.

are you serious ? no differ between Tm2 and Tm3 and all other m2 guns are better then thunder m3 smoky,isida,freeze,  TWINS with unlimited energy rail m2 beats thunder m3 and so on.Thunder is the weakest

One things is for sure reading this thread - there's a lot of people who don't understand probability distributions.

 

Q1: If the null hypothesis is that Smokey has an 8% critical hit chance, what are the odds of 5 critical hits in a row?

A:  8% x 8% x 8% x 8% x 8% = 8%^5 = 0.00032768%    Very small : a bit higher odds that tossing 11 coins and getting all heads (50%^11)

 

Q2: Given player fire five shots on target in an average minute, what might be the chances of this happening over a day, a week, and a month?

A: Lets say there are on average 16,000 people in battles, and 10% of them using Smokey => that's 1,600 people. 

    - all of those people have, in a given minute a 0.00032768% chance of getting 5 criticals 

    - so the expected number of time this will happen to someone in that minute is  100% - (chance it doesn't happen) = 100% - ((100-0.00032768%)^1600) = 100-99.477 = 0.522%

    - So in 24 hours, we have 24x60 minutes = 1440 minutes.  The chance of this event not happening at all 99.477%^1440 =  0.05%

    - we are talking about 1600 x 1440 "player minutes" here through - that's 2.3 million player-minutes a day! 

    - The expected (mean) number of times it will happen in a day is 0.000327% x 1600 x 1440 = 7.3

 

So - while the chance of it happening is pretty small, there's a lot of groups of five Smokey shots fired in a day.

Small probability x lots of events means a reasonable chance its going to happen - to someone, but maybe not to you. 

 

Now this isn't accurate modelling, but its a good "order of magnitude" calculation. 

Its like lotto tickets - just because *you* don't win, doesn't mean that someone doesn't get millions.

Nope. With thunder, one shot a hornet. Smokies can't do that. You need to shoot 3 times.

One shoot, If you have thunder m3 and the hornet is m0, or m1

My opinion, is that when micro-upgrades come, then 50% protection should be only for the paints that have one gun protection. Those which have 3 gun protections should have 30% each paint, to make it fairer as max and so tanks could actually be destroyed, cause the protection, double armour and first aid is what makes the game less destroying. It's people around with no fuel, with drugs, protection paints and there's no end to killing, which is why golds fall mostly for the M2 ranks. This is why I never wanna be Generalissimo; because all of those dummies will use mammoths. Then you can literally call the game Mammoths Online, can;t yah?! Stupid rebalance :@
