I think you should mount it on either something that is faster than Hunter or at something with more Health than Hunter. Reason is Thunder's self-dmg. "Rule" says that, Thunder should be used with either Hornet, Viking or Mammoth.

But of course rules are made to be broken so, give it a try...it may work for you.

LOL :D

I think I try it because I play a lot with the classic combo - hunter and smoky

I know right?

I use classic combo for all my CTFs and TDMs and OWN!

Yep, i have faced a skilled Gissmo with that exact combo. And i have to say that he was a very tough opponent. Much more difficult than say, if i had as opponent a slow Mammoth-Smoky (i could do a bit peek-a-boo on him and destroy him). A Wasp-Smoky would never come on face-to-face against my Hornet-Thunder. But Hunter-Smoky was fast enough to not let me do peek-a-boo and strong enough to face me 1v1. So it is asbolutely great combo, for sure.

I find this to be the best combo because it is fast, balanced, and overall very strong. But I like your combo too, Thunder and Hornet. I use it with a cheap paint and play just for kicks :D I like the Thunder's power and the Hornet's absolutely epic drift. Who's great idea was that anyways...?

thunder in 1 vs1 against most enemies is winning, sometimes you must be sneaky for some fouls

I was a full m2 at the time   But on a 1vs1, a Thunder-Hornet would beat any turret in Sandbox....cause of it's high dmg per shot...and since it can hide fast cause of Hornet's accelaration, Thunder's reload weakness would be covered by the time of hiding. Smoky user would kill that combo only with criticals...thus would have a winning chance of only 8% mostly. (Assuming both players are equally skilled of course).

That doesn't mean that Thunder is "better" or anything...it just means that every turret has its strong points and its weak ones too. Now the bad thing about Smoky-Thunder-Railgun users is when they face Ricoshets and Twins. They can beat them only with peek-a-boo or having the required distance to not get hit.

For example: A Hornet-Smoky would do much much better in a Noise CTF than a Hornet-Thunder. Why? The reason is, little distances, which would cause Thunder user to self-dmg a lot. While Smoky pushes and crits there Lik'a BAWS!

Overall, there are TONS of things to compare...so simply can't say which one is better or worse....it depends on the situation (map, game mode, skills etc...)

You are so right - I cannot argue with any of that and that is also why I love the Thunder

Have you ever considered writing a guide? You would be good

xD...maybe after FatalDeath grows too. It is by far my best account and the most......right managed. My garage there has everything i need now, after those great sales and so, i can experiment with a few more combos there. Once that is done, i may try to to write down what i have experienced till that time.

Why does damage decrease by distance, that makes like ZERO sense!! Please change it!!

Hell no! Because that would make the Thunder really OverPowered!

If you want a gun that does not decrease by distance that much than take the Smoky or even much better the Railgun which does not decrease at all!

Thunder topic is the most popular :D  B)

:)

On turrets, yes.....on hulls, right now it is Mammoth, but since NP kicked in, i think Mammoth is going to lose its popularity with Hornet, Viking and Titan being the new contenders of most popular topic.
