If you're not a buyer, I don't see the point of saving up for a kit when it's much easier to buy them at the appropriate ranks.

You don't have to be a buyer to get the kits. The point is ..IF you can save the crystals you will be ahead of the game with a hull and paint you would otherwise not be able to get yet..Thats the point...it is easier as far as its a smaller goal to reach one at a time ..but if you can save and not spend (thats the trouble I have) you will save a bunch of crystals too. i know the kit says 50% at 299K I believe you save more than 299K in crystals with the kit

By you saying "you don't see the point" do you mean it is of your opinion that there is no value in going that route?

Because it seems if you know that you can save crystals and acquire items you would not get to purchase until higher ranks and still do not "see" the point then it looks like you just want to be disagreeable...which is fine too I have no problem with it

So all in all, the waste out-weights the benefit IMO when I could get the tank I want for at least half the price (I might try and get Rustle, but for now Ceder is fine), probably 1 third of the price if I don't bother with Digital or Rustle.

True, it is nearly impossible to earn those 300k crystals by just playing the game.

If you do not want and/or simply can 't buy the Medium M2 kit than that is just a reality.

And also to get the equipment the "normal" way is something I honestly admire. B)

Told my own reasons before, not of real interest in this subject.

But to imply that the Medium M2 kit itself is not that good and/or a waste of crystals? Hmm...lets see:

Number one: you get the Thunder M2 only one rank earlier, agreed not much of a benefit there: 0 - 0

Number two: you get the Viking M2 three ranks earlier: shocking? Nope, but it is a benefit that lasts three pretty long ranks: 0.5 - 0

Number three: you get the Sandstone: pretty useless paint in this kit for sure, still costs you crystals: 0 - 1 (darn!)

Number four: you get the Emerald paint six ranks earlier:

Nice paint, much nicer than Rustle IMO because I myself do not believe in Freeze protection at all. Only delays the inescapable end.

Twins protection of the Emerald has a bit more use, but I admit is not that great either.

Best protection from Twins is to keep a distance: if possible....

Rustle has added Firebird protection, Emerald added Rail protection. Always been a Forester-fan: nuf said! :)

Emerald simply is the strongest Thunder-paint right from the start.

It could save you quite some crystals...how?

To get the 32% of the Rustle to the basic 42% of the Emerald will cost you the nice amount of 42.613 crystals!

Hé, in a certain way I earned back that useless Sandstone I had to buy for 41.250: nice!

Besides this Emerald can be MU 'd further if wanted: 1 - 0

Number five: you get the Prodigi paint nine lóóóóng ranks earlier:

Formidable paint! Very good protection against all long-range turrets except the Smoky.

Can live with that, because Smoky is all about the Crit. No Crit, you can survive and fight back,

get a Crit and your more or less toast.

Prodigi for me simply combines two formidable and much earlier obtainable paints: Cedar and Tundra!

I dearly love those paints and use them all the time with Smok-Ti-Thun and will continue to do so, but simply

hate the fact I always have to choose between them.

No longer so with Prodigi!

Or does someone really believe that for example fighting in Desert with Prodigi is the same as with just a Cedar or a Tundra??? :huh:

Even better, the occassional Shaft gets a bit of a Dirty paint treatment from the Prodigi as well. Firebird-protection...hmm ok...

On top of that Prodigi can be MU 'd to incredible heights, though at the cost of many crystals.

On the other hand you can spare crystals too, because there is absolutely no need for any in between paint-solution.

Every earned crystal can go into microupgrading this superb paint.

Together with Picasso this was my dream paint. Do not dream of Picasso anymore! (Only from his real paintings.)

Because this paint is that good I like to give it an extra score of 2, but decided to cool it down a bit ;) : 1.5 - 0

Endscore in favor of the Medium M2 kit, a questionable: 3 - 1

(If some still think it is just a 0 - 0.... well, can 't make someone turn his blind eye, isn 't it? :D)

To proof that Tundra is still a good paint I took it to the Industrial Zone.

Found plenty of drugging Gens there. Why not drug back?

So I did, and did good with my Thunder M1.... still they kept calling me a noob!!! :D

Those guys with zero points were parkouring btw.

The picture of my beautiful Tundra paint unfortunately got ruined by the rude Firebird. Sorry for that! ;)

The thing with Prodigi and Emerald is that you have to choose which one to use all the time... I prefer just using one paint, its simpler that way. By the way, I actually don't like getting things early because I have this thing where I really hate having a gun that is not upgraded when the rank allows it to be upgraded, so the more ranks between Thunder / Viking M2 the better so that I can save up enough crystals to get the upgrade as soon as a discount comes along. I am pretty happy at the moment because M2 Thunder is as good as mine because I am about 18k away from the price at full, and I get a very handy 10k from ranking and the last 6k will definatly not take me 1 third of my rank to get.

EDIT: Just took another Gold Box minutes after writing this. :D So only another 5k now.

You are right about still having to choose between Prodigi and Emerald, but it is quite a different story from the choice

between a Cedar or Tundra in my case.

I really like Tundra but as a Thunder player I do not need it. There is no Thunderprotection in Tundra,

so even in a Map that is crowded with Railers you will still miss that other crucial protection.

I had many fights that afterwards I felt the outcome would have been the same or even

better with Cedar, despite the Railshots I did survive. So it is always a choice with a lot of uncertaintity.

Tundra may be usefull with another combo in the future, but for now I would have also preferred to only own Cedar.

The difference is that Prodigi and Emerald do both have Thunderprotection.

I MU 'd the one from Prodigi to 33%. The Emerald is at 46%.

Prodigi has a huge Rail-protection but the MU 'd 14% of the Emerald has it 's value too!

It is just a matter of time and MU-crystals that will make the balance shift more and more towards Prodigi, but if in the future

the rare Twin that doesn 't drug does dare to raise his ugly head :P in a Pro Battle, the Lord will get him with Emerald!

(when we can swap our equipment during a battle)

Revilo, you were talking about maybe getting Rustle or Digital and afaik you always or almost always play with Thunder-Viking?

Than I advice you not to go for Digital, no Thunderprotection in it: so you would create the "Tundra or Cedar question" as well!

Rustle could be a choice, but are you convinced about the freeze protection? Do you think it does help? Please your view on it.

Some players are a big fan of Rustle and even prefer it above Emerald. Is it because they just have it or is is it really that good?

In my view you can save a lot of crystals by just sticking with your probably already MU 'd Cedar.

I know I do with Smok-Ti-Thun, most of the times I do choose Cedar, only in large maps I choose Tundra.

No need for Rustle or even Emerald for that sake, if you have the dirt cheap but excellent MU 'd Cedar.

I will stick with it on SmokTT and see how far it can go!

Are you really going to buy the Thunder M2 at full price? I am a buyer, but believe me I never would.

Multiple accounts is my answer to the problem of "discount-waiting".

I will rank pretty soon to Captain with SmokTT and than he may rest for a while. ;)

Several reasons I would get Rustle: A decent Freeze protection that can be MUed further would be very useful IMO. Certainly more useful than the 5 on Isida and Somky in Ceder. For example: waiting under a gold box with a Freeze shooting at you, those vital extra seconds from Rustle could well get you that gold box. Also, waiting on your team's flag waiting for your flag to be returned so you could capture the opposition's flag with a Freeze shooting you. Two examples I encountered today with a nice 2k XP & 2k crystal haul from crystal box hunting and kill-stealing.

The Isida protection on Rustle may noi do much, but some Isidas might ot go directly for you if they see an easier target, and I believe it would help a little bit, especially MUed.

Replying to that final paragraph, it depends a lot on how far away the discount will be. I will buy it ASAP, so if that means on only a 25% off sale then so be it. I am impatient to get M2 Thunder a. before you :D and b. soon because I have used M1 Thunder since the rebalance. I know, over a year of the same gun, sheesh (I have not played much though). So it's really time for an upgrade.

Well, I would not be surprised if it is! Played it with Hornet quite some time when I started TO, but used it too much in campingmode.

I now know there is much more to this gun, but it 's the reason I got into the Thunder: not unhappy with the transition I have to say... :D

Thunder could not be used as a camping champion fortunately!

At the moment I enjoy Freeze as well, but I really start to dislike Rico (M2).

Too much effort for too little reward IMO, better to stop playing with it for now.

Might be the right time to unpack the Railgun a bit more and start to slowly realize it 's full potential! B)

You should have saved for the medium kit, you could of had viking now...you get Viking,Thunder, 3 paints and supplies....M2 Thunder is sweet though

Plus you get the hull and the paints before you can if you buy them one at a time.

Yea.... I never would have saved up enough for that without buying it. I even do the occasional contest and get 20k here and there. Cant lie would be cool to have m2 vik right now, but im happy waiting!!! :)

I bought it…so after reading some more of the comments and not saving myself maybe Remaine, Revilo and you have a better point than me if you are not a buyer. I still think the kit is worth the price even with Sandstone paint…Prodigy is the best paint by far of the 3 you get. Even though the Thunder protection is less than Emerald you can MU it and get good Thunder protection. Emerald looks cooler IMO though. More than likely I would not have been able to save 299K for the kit with out buying. Viking is great also, I have not played it much because I have MU my M2 Hornet quite a bit and I am enjoying it. I will eventually MU Viking too…I have seen a lot of Vikings lately taking massive damage and keep on trucking (with the right timing of drugs)

No, I called my account poor, not in a serious way though.

My LordotS account with the medium M2 kit is simply decadent because of the expensive paints that will not loose their value ever.

(....well, what about possibly new weapons..... :( )

SmokTT with the M2 hull-kit is "fortunately" not so decadent anymore, because this account is loosing his surplus on value

more and more when you are ranking and I do like the idea of becoming a sort of "poor" proud non-buyer on this one!

Unfortunately regarding buying: ones an offender, you will in infinity always stay the offender, I know... :D

Hey if you can buy it, then i say buy it......no hate coming from here. Tanki online definetly needs buyers out there so that it can be as great as it is!!!! I agree with you on emerald.....ive been seening a good bit of thunder/vikings with emerald paint out there...LOVE the loook!!!! Love my viking all i have ever used. :wub:

This is weird .. I have been doing tests on different parameters of thunder

Despite the mentioned stat of the max range of thunder (not more than 120 meters)

However this thunder m3 with 100.1 damage could destroy a hornet = 194 hp with 6 shots from a distance of more than 300 meters

Unless if i am wrong about the dimensions of the map desert .. anybody have an idea about ?

The first MU stats was saying max range damage and not max range just

i think that max range of like 120m at thunder m3,means for a thunder m3 with 76-103 damage,that at 120m will do around 70-76 damage and at 300m range to kill a hornet m3 with 6 blows seems quite normal
