Consider when you face a Thunder head-on, as rail; the hit does not affect you much. Same situation with Twins. However, getting your corners shot at by a Smoky does cause you to spin and shake about.

When sideways to a Thunder, Smoky, Twins, etc., the effects are magnified...

Firebird is very close to best weapon in game due to highest DPS. Personally, weapons are all about skills, and fluctuate too much to even be rated. I can really only rate weapons due to personal experience and unique set effects. Although if you really liked Shaft, you could try Railgun. Railgun needs a lot les sitting, but you can snipe with it.

It's b/c i'm a cheapo and I feel as if I wasted extra crystals buying it. Also paints. (playstyle is actually perfectly fine nonetheless)

Viking is best with thunder.

Any area-of effect weapon, but freeze is my least favorite of the bunch (it just didn't "click" with me). Depending on my mood, I choose Thunder or Firebird but do decently well with either.

 

BTW Thunder is best with an agile hull like Hornet or Hunter. Viking is overused and doesn't live up to its name, it's more health oriented, and if you're going for that, use Dictator as its turret position allows for better hull placement.

Smoky is a very nice turret. It's not my playstyle, even though technically Smoky has more DPS at singles combat. Its knockback is very near overpowered, but it has insane recoil. It's more of a whittler strategy, but I can't say Smoky is bad, I just don't like using it.

Thunder M3 with fully MUed reload is extremely scary. I saw a compulsive buyer who was only Brigadier but he was using a fully MUed Thunder M3 and Hornet M3 and my Titan M2, even with Rustle, stood little chance against him, until I got Smoky.
