I really like Thunder but it just does not do enough damage for me to love it.

 

Takes three shots to destroy most tanks. If you're too close the enemy gets to hug you, causing you to self damage or give up. If you're not close enough, you don't even get full damage per shot. The idea of this as a "midrange-only" turret just doesn't make sense.

Using a paint with thunder protection will come in handy at close range. Long range i don't think anything can be done apart from MUing it.

I think I saw this in the Twins thread and I'll give the same answer. Twins. You'll get more kills without drugging, and you do not have to worry about self damage or Thunder's lackluster damage.

I use viking/thunder both fully m4. Even though they nerfed me thunder, i kill m4 hornet/rail usually in 2 shots. Rail I think is now the weakest turret by far except for freezer.

Is M4 Thunder worth it? i have M3 Thunder 14/25 for damage and 8/12 for reload. I have the funds for full MU damage+reload only but idk if it is worth it.

I would rather recommend you getting smoky and making that as your M4. They are just way too many emeralds and Cedars out there.

Congrats.... Soon there will be two very distinct types of Gismos..... The first class will be the he M4s or near M4s like you. The rest will be barely M3 and unable to afford more than a couple of MU steps.

 

I am feeling more and more like I don't want to reach Gismo only to be slaughtered.
